20x25L = 500L of dirt, 635 kg, 1400 lbs.

Yes that's about 2x as much weight as you can load, the axle was overloaded. The rear axle can only handle about an additional 350 kg from the empty weight, so 11 bags max. Half of them should be in the back seat or floor pan. The Mach-E is not a truck for hauling.

So what you are saying Lee is that we should not feel guilty about also getting a Lightning to go along with our cars, is that it? ??

for anyone curious about what the dealer had to say, i finally took my car into for recalls/repairs 2 years after buying it.

Dealer confirmed 2 things:
1- they can't cover it under warranty, since it's physical damage, but i can try my luck with Ford customer service
2- it'll cost roughly 850$ CAD to repair because they can't just replace one broken bracket, they have to replace all 4 + the tablet!

This is a little bit crazy imo.. I did have to call ford customer service for other problems, and, it seems they might be able to cover half or more of this cost, but TBD. Not super happy with this, but certainly won't pay 425$ for a broken bracket so that i can level the tablet with the seats once they are folded.

If anyone has a trick to only get a single bracket re-installed, let me know!

I went glamping this summer and loaded up the back of my MME with stuff. I was concerned about the weight so I put some small scrap pieces of 2 x 4 wood next to the brackets. They are actually the same height and act as another support means. I since have installed a different support means, other than wood. If you are looking for a cheap and easy solution, nothing beats a 2 x 4.

Sorry about your damage, but I do kind of enjoy the idea of a fancy electric sports car being used as earth-moving equipment.
