Has anyone experienced this? This has been happening alot lately! All of a sudden I can not select a drive mode and I am in whatever mode!

Curious…do people actually change drive modes after they’ve had the car three months? Also did these people ever use paddle shifters with an automatic? I was under the impression most people settle on a drive mode and leave it. Curious mind wants to know. I get this “No drive Mode” message infrequently and just silence it. To my knowledge, the error has never changed my drive mode or had any impact on my car while driving it at all. Frankly, it had never even raised itself to my consciousness until this OP.

I put it in unbridled at the dealership when I picked it up in Ma 21, stayed there ever since.

I do note that I had been getting the occasional drive mode unavailable warning but easy to put back in to unbridled. I haven't had an occurence since the last update so perhaps it's something they addressed.

I just had this happen on the way to work this morning. I've just been shutting the car off and restarting it. That fixes it for me. Waiting and trying later has never worked the few times this has happened in the past.

Unbridled since I picked it up last October.

I never change drive modes. It never even crosses my mind to do it.

I drive whisper, and in the rare times I do get the error, I can feel more regen, and my display changes to what looks like 'Engage'. So it does seem to impact how the car drives (slightly). It could depend on what drive mode you started in.

Hello! Send us a private message with your MachE’s VIN and current mileage. Allow me to see what I can do to assist. Thanks!
It would be great if you could report back to the group given there are several of us with the same issue.

Thanks.

I change daily based on where I drive. It does supposedly change the suspension in the GTPE although I barely feel it, I feel more of a difference in just the steering weight.

It has been a couple months and still not fixed. I am not gonna lie, that is very disappointing. I bet Tesla will be much better in that department.

Haven't done the two-Finger SYNC dance for it though.
Sync-salute!

Interestingly, earlier today I reset the PCCM and triggered "Drive mode not available" along wit a slew of other like "Hill assist not..", "Service <something> system" and a few others, while parked. It continued to hit me with all of those messages until I reset all DTC's, then it was happy again. I havn't driven it yet but Started/Stopped it a few times without error. We'll see tomorrow. But I thought it interesting that resetting the steering control module would trigger that.

Happens to me almost weekly. It’s annoying.
I used to have it happen a ton from June to Mid August. Last week it happened once, after sitting running in a parking lot for 15' ish min in park it just 'DMU'd' me, while still in park. It was about 107 outside though.

I change mine occasionally between Whisper and Unbridled depending on if I expect to need that extra push faster. I'd like to stay in Engage but you don't get the sexy silky sheet.

Normally I stay in Whisper 90% of the time and even then I get the error sometimes.

OK, this is happening to me at least 3 to 5 times per week now. I went on a road trip over 800 miles this past weekend and didn't get the error at all. Spent a lot of time driving entirely off the highway the day after and got it twice. Today I got it while on the highway.

It pops up around town, and speed doesn't seem to matter. Heck, I was driving pretty chill yesterday when the thing popped up and in a hurry today.

Has ANYONE figured out a pattern with this yet? Any of you early access folks have a fix?

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Mach-E concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
