On my 2021 (now sold), my seat moved back a lot.
On the 2022, it barely moves. When it was in for the recall update, I asked them to update the DSM to fix it. The answer I got back is that "2 inches" from current position is all it moves now, they were surprised also. They gave me the shop pages and it says that. Both the 2022 and my 2021 manuals say that also, but I know what our 2021 did.

Can anyone with a 2021 verify how far back it goes when you shut off the ignition and open the door?

Also - anyone know if this can be changed in FORScan?

I don’t have my car right now, but I’ll check when I get it back. But reading this triggers something. After my last update I remember thinking it wasn’t moving as far as it used to, but I kind of disregarded the thought.

Originally, it returned to the full rear position - I’m sure of that. I could barely reach the pedals when it retracted.

Yes, that is exactly what my 2021 did. Dealer service guys were surprised when they found the 2 inch reference in their manual. And I was when I saw it in both the 2021 and 2022 manuals. Didn't go through all versions of manuals though.

I'm shocked they didn't just do it for you though... you should have said it is intermittent which should get them to 100% do it!

I finally got back to this. My job 1 car still retracts the seat fully when I shut off.
The only explanation I can come up with for the time I didn’t think it moved very far is that maybe I had already moved the seat back manually for some reason such that fully retracted was only a couple inches. Just speculating.

Thanks! So job 1 2021 retracts fully, despite the manual saying otherwise. Anyone know where this is in FORScan?

Sounds like you should try and get another 2022 owner to confirm first. If you had the DSM update, I'd say maybe the dealer is right and Ford is whack. But being that they didn't do it, it could still be a bug.
