I both agree and disagree with some things they cover... but not the best overall look for the Mach-E, and I'm really not that surprised. As someone that regularly pushes my GT in some autocrosses and some aggressive daily driving, I still think it's a really fun car, but some things are definitely lacking - ESPECIALLY in software/configurability.

Honestly, just another video in the lineup of things I've watched that probably make me want an Ioniq 5N. It's a good thing there isn't one near me on a lot to test drive.

My experience with the ionic software is that it is … an acquired taste. And the nav system was unreliable. This may have changed.
Also, not a fan of the tiny screens.

Ya, I definitely don't love their screen setup. I test drove an EV6 back in 2022 and wasn't in love with that either. And I've definitely heard, especially in the 5N, the software is overly complex and confusing just based on the number of options and selections there are for setup/configurability. Almost the opposite problem that we have, in some ways. I'd almost prefer that, to an extent - especially since they have a couple shortcut buttons you can set, but still a lot, I'm sure.

It's an interesting choice of comparison, and i wonder if it was intentional.

They are comparing a sedan (Model 3), to two crossover SUV's. This is an odd choice, particularly when Tesla has the model Y which would have made this a more level playing field, and apples to apples comparison.

He did mention the model Y bit right at the end - and they're basically just waiting for the updated version to match the updated M3 that should be out soon.

The internet will make you go crazy questioning every thing you've ever bought, if you let it. There are hundreds of make/models driving on the streets. I refuse to be convinced that only ONE person got it right. I stand by my purchase!

I don’t think Edmunds was wrong about their characterization of the MME GT. There was nothing cutting edge about the Mach-E at the November 2019 LA debut and now five unchanged years later, it’s definitely showing its age.

Comparing a crossover SUV with more of a hot hatch and a sedan. Not exactly apples to apples. I get there aren’t a ton of models to compare against yet and if Ford is touting it as a performance Mustang it should be able to perform against other performance vehicles in a performance test. My takeaway is if you want a sportier track car, get a model 3, if you want a little more room and still sporty with a higher price get an Ioniq 5 N. If you want more cargo room and a performance daily driver get a Mach E. I got my GT for a good deal and only a few grand more than a premium so for me GT all the way with zero regrets.

.89 G? Sounds like they used the all season tires.

Edmunds got .99 G out of a 2021 GTPE with summer tires.

3.7 0-60? sounds like yet ANOTHER reviewer mistakingly is using “unbridle extend” for their drag racing.

So frustrating. He’s also in extend for the laps. Of course (as he mentioned) it doesn’t feel like 700 tq. That’s because it doesn’t have that much in that mode.
?

No, we wouldn’t have won the comparison tests. But at least it would be closer with the right tires and in the right drive modes. It’s been 4 freaking years this car has been around. They should know which mode to put it in.

As somebody who has owned both the Ioniq 5 and multiple MMEs…. there’s basically zero difference cargo space except the frunk. Neither have any ground clearance whatsoever so I wouldn’t call either an SUV. The EV6 is more of a hot hatch. It has a slightly shorter wheelbase and stiffer suspension.

I haven't watched the video. And now I don't have to.

Any tester that doesn't know what drive mode options like Unbridle Extended mode actually mean before selecting it and running comparisons with other vehicles, has no credibility with anything they might say afterward.

Yeah it should be well known at this point.

But Ford is also partially to blame.

EVERY other EV manufacturer tells you how much horsepower you gain or lose in various modes. Ford makes “unbridle extend” actually sound like a boost mode when it’s the opposite.

I haven't watched it either.

Don't need to.
If it was a comparison between the performance of the 911 GT3/ C8 ZR1/ Mustang GTD, I'd see it similarly.

3 vehicles that are all insanely quick and amazing to drive compared to the vehicles that were available for most of my ~70 years on this planet.

And I'm talking about the EVs ??

We are so jaded. :)

3.7 to 60 sounds more like all-season tires than Unbridled Extend. It’s why I went with 30mm more section width when I switched to all-season UHPs. More grip = better performance. ??
