Which settings do you have the front Eibach and rear Steeda on and how do you like the balance and handling?

I don’t love that the Steeda bar may hit, but I guess it depends what it might hit!

Anyone else on here running that combination, specifically both front and rear bars on full stiff?

Thanks!!
I can show you were the Steeda bar hits in the rear. I posted these two years ago (date on photo) but have no idea in what thread or where so here they are again. The bar contacts the body when the rear is loaded down. In my case, it did not have to be loaded down as much as Mike's car because mine was lowered.

This is the right rear but the left side was similar.

Hey Mark,

I got in touch with Jared and he’s on the road but will get back to me. I think I’m almost decided and will most likely get the Eibach full set.

I like Steeda’s stuff and have their springs on my ‘13 GT, but I like the fact that Eibach shaped their rear bar to be more like the OEM one for better fit.

I usually like a stiffer rear bar too but it is icy here 4 months of the year and my wife drives the car too and she used to hate her RSX with the massive rear sway when we did the ice racing course.

@markboris, You’ve owner both sets now and I see you mostly recommend the Eibach set over the Steeda. Is the Eibach rear bar enough or do you ever wish you had a bit more rate?

I have used Steeda and Eibach springs and sway bars on my Escape, Focus RS, GT500 along with many specialty Steeda suspension parts for the 500. I have always been very happy with both companies. When Steeda announced their sway bars for the Mach-E I was all over it and believe one of the first to install them. Was so happy with them many others here got them, then I started having issues. Had to cut the end of the front bar off one inch so they would not hit other suspension parts. Their end links came with no grease in them and started making noises. I had the silicone boots on the end links blow off a few times. After lowering the car had even more issues with both the front and rear bars.

I had several conversations with them and they insisted there was nothing wrong with their bars and it may have been my installation. That did not go over well with me as I knew what I was doing and did not appreciate them pointing the finger at me and several other members that were having the same issues. As soon as Eibach came out with their bars, the Steeda's went in the trash and I never looked back. The Eibach's have been rock solid. They were on my previous GTPE for over 20K miles and I have a new set on my new GT. They are quiet and the car handles great.

When I had the Steeda's both the front and rear bar were set to the firmest setting but then I also had 275's up front and 315's in the rear. Now I am running for the first time, a square 275 setup (normally run staggered) and have the front Eibach bar on the firmest setting. Yes the rear bar is not as stiff as the Steeda was on the firm setting but I am perfectly happy with the way it feels. To me it is more neutral the way it is set up right now.

Amazing!

I always appreciate your, and many of the other members, well though our responses!!

Going to order the Eibach front and rear set and get them installed once my new tires come in. Sounds like the dealer I bought them from will help me out with the cracking issue I had. ?

Meeting my other buddy for lunch tomorrow and will grab some 4ga from his shop to wire up my sub. Going to extend the F+R speaker wires as well so I can do an easy class D amp install if my other speakers need more juice.

Only got 1500km on the car before the snow fell so I’m excited to see what this thing can do!

Thanks for your help everyone. ?

I also picked up some 285 wide Hankook RS4 track tires for the ‘13 GT so I can get that car back out to the track. Next mod there will an aluminum driveshaft. ?

It seems you have decided to go full Eibach, but to answer your question, both bars are at the stiffest settings. I figured why go half way? I love how the car handles with the stiff bars.

BTW - I followed Mark into the Steeda bars, and had all the problems he had. Very frustrating. At this point, however, I do not plan to replace the rear Steeda bar. It seems to work well with the Eibach front bar anyway.

Thanks for everyone’s help!

Got my replacement tires today and figured I’d be able to bang out the bars in an hour. It was one of those “Honey, I’ll be in the garage for 45 minutes” types of moments. ?

All in all it went well with a few bruised and cut hands and stuck parts. 4.5 hours later I was able to take it out to see what it can do!

Still breaking in the new tires so I took it easy!

The front is a 30-45 minute job. Maybe less if you have done it before. But the rear takes more time for sure.

I bet you love this mod. It is a huge improvement IMO.

It’s pretty great! Definitely the best upgrade to the car. Now plenty of power and she goes round the corners fast too!

Also wanted to add that this got rid of a lot of the bounce that a lot of members complain about and that I still noticed with the magnaride suspension.

I wonder if it’s a combination of additional loading but also the ridges Eibach puts on the bar by the mounts, making each side have more loading?

I mentioned this back when I first installed these bars a couple of years ago in my '21. I will not say it got rid of a lot of bounce as I don't have that issue with roads around here and having the Mag ride shocks but it does soften the ride a bit for sure. It is because the stock bars have the mount bushings volcanized to the bars. That keeps the bars from moving freely making for a harsher ride.

Speaking of the ride, I met up with Steve (HuntingPudel) today for a bit on the way to my parents and we both again commented on how our '24 GTPE's ride much nicer than our '21's did.

finally got the eibach sway bars and had them mounted to my 23 GTPE. compared to the change in handling performance when i put them on my original 21 rwd premium, it's less drastic of a change because the GTPE has magneride. but for sure it corners flatter and thus increase the fun and confidence in fast corners without significant worsening of ride quality (bad pavement, speed bumps). cliche, but should've come this way from factory for the GT :)

i can see how even thicker bars might create an even more aggressive ride with zero sway but having a little give provides that daily driveability that eibach upgrades typically balance well with performance.

What do you guys think is the reason for the big improvement?

Above I used the work “much” and I should have said it’s a good improvement but not huge. Since the part numbers for the springs changed, I’d say they made them a bit softer. For at least Steve and myself, they went the wrong way. I know 98% of everyone wants a smoother ride with this car but we want it to handle better and softening springs doesn’t help.

For those of you with a GT (non-PE) and stock wheels, how was the change in ride quality / comfort with the Eibachs sway bars installed?

For ALL trims, GTPE, GT, Premium, CR1, Select, Rally, the change in ride quality is the same. Since all Mach-E's have the anti-sway bars mounted the same way with vulcanized bushings, when changing to bars without those bushings you have a little less bounce since the suspension is not as stiff. Steve (HuntingPudel) can explain this better than I can.
