I've had my MME 5+ months, no issues other than a few gremlins after an OTA.

Today did a 30 mile journey, averaged 3.3mi/kWh so wasn't pushing it, nothing out of the usual.

Got home, parked on driveway and there was a strong electrical smell, like soldering.

So made sure it wasn't near anything and left it, smell went away after a while.

Anyone else had similar? Any idea what it was or is my HVJB about to fail?

It was a 70F day and aircon was on, shouldn't have been asking for heat.

The HVBJB is inside a sealed (water/air tight) struture... should not be able to smell anything coming from within battery case.

Never had it but to elaborate did you notice it inside the cabin or only outside the car?

Maybe an extremely slight inside smell, very apparent once out the car. It was my wife who smelt it first.

Is it possibly coming from your charger? About a year ago or so, I had an issue with my Grizzl-E charger arcing between the wall plug and the 14-50 NEMA outlet because the plug had come unplugged slightly and it started to melt the plastic on the adapter plug. I had posted about that issue here - Faint burning smell while charging? | MachEforum - Ford Mustang Mach-E News, Owners, Discussions, Community.
I've got a Grizzl-E but it wasn't plugged in, i had just completed a journey.

Just done 20 miles and no smell whatsoever so either impending fireball is punted down the road or it fixed itself!

No idea really and I hope it does not return. I never had a sticky brake pad but I know some owners have reported issues. I know my Mt. Bike rotors stink after a steep downhill run!

I'm an electronics engineer so I know what soldering or overheating electronics smell like and love driving so I also know cooking brakes smell like and it definitely wasn't that!

Engineer myself and and hate the idea of a burning smell not repeating itself. Normally means someone failed. Really hated it when I flew on RC 135’s!

Did you try and pinpoint the origin? I would have been crawling all over the place to find it and might leave it away from the house, let alone put it in a garage.

In engineering school you spend countless hours learning how to put magic smoke into everything we use. It is unfortunate when our secrets are revealed. We are forced to destroy the thing to prevent the leak of such power. Muhahaha!

Just kidding, the smoke is bad and I would be appropriately concerned. You might park outside a couple days to make sure it does not immediately return, or is not caused by something inside. Your description sounds very much like the MME thought As far as the resistance heaters, I agree not likely and would have been stronger inside. There is a difference between something “baking in” and that solder smell. Unfortunately the smell typically means it is either dead or arc-welded together. Have you opened the frunk to see if there might be a lingering smell? The position of it might give you some clues.
