If what you’re saying is true (it went 40 seconds longer than it should after getting the self destruct command), then the cheers and champagne popping are even WORSE!

REAL reactions wouldn’t be cursing under your breath, it would be out loud. And then when it finally exploded it would be a sigh of relief, not pretending like it was a “huge success.”
Not everyone knew the chain of events at the time. It surpassed expectations, showed it was a little stronger than it needed to be (at least for single launch, to be reusable needs increased durability), and met minimum mission success parameters. The bar for "success" was very low on this launch. Everything else was bonus content.

Watching that thing tumble was amazing. Anyone with even a hint of the forces involved that understands the physics would be too. Go visit a saturn V somewhere to get an understanding of just how much vehicle we're talking about.

Typically when rockets tumble it turns into this...

The starship atop the booster weighed ~3 million pounds. It took ~ 3 rotations occurring at mach 2 before it had structural failure.

Definitely seen a Saturn V up close.
It’s impressive!

Now imagine it going 1,400mph tumbling end over end.
And then imagine calling it a success! ?

On a related note, every time a SpaceX lands upright, I’m still amazed. The physics involved in falling from space then adjusting to land on a pad……. Insane! That I would and do cheer!

I got banned for 30 days because I made a pun saying "Thank God (storm's name) reign was but 3 days"
I wondered what happened. I suspected a few posts got too political. Anyway, I also welcome you back!

Look, you do you but it doesn't matter why you hate him, I never said it was because of his money. Personally, I am avidly against drugs and Elon uses. I wouldn't be friends with the guy and I don't agree with his choices, but it's his life and I don't have to follow him on X, listen to him or be around him.

There's a lot of people in this world I disagree with, including Donald, Hunter and Joe, but I don't let them live in my head. Coming on a forum and saying these wild things about random people who you don't even know is just strange. I recognize Elon for the things he's done and what I don't agree with I don't let bother me. I don't think it's healthy to focus on so much hate for someone. That doesn't make us fanboys, it makes us realists.
This is a car forum. I know we stray outside of cars sometimes, but mentioning politicians by name is over the line.

It is obvious you are passionate about your hate, and that is fine. Just don't share it with us. Take it over to your left wing, big government forum and tell them about it.
As you can see I wasn't the first one to mention Trump, Hunter or Biden. But I'd be more worried about missing nuclear documents sitting in someone's house than Hunter's drug problem.

Again you go over the line. This is a car forum, dude. Stop. Nobody else cares to hear about your hate. We just want to talk about cars. Cars that go fast and burn rubber. Lots of petroleum produced rubber. ?
