New discovery:

On the Ford Nav screen, at the bottom there are 3 boxes that show the compass heading, street name, and elevation. I was at a stop light and started poking around.

Touching the direction or elevation opens a menu to set what you want to display in that space. Not many options unless you have a route running, it looks like.

Touching the street name opens up a useful card of info showing the nearest intersection, coordinates, etc, and gives you buttons to find useful services nearby, like charging, hospitals, towing, etc.

It's probably in the manual, but I thought it was pretty cool

Anyone try to go in for an oil change? That would probably take the cake . . .
Ford finance person selling maintenance coverage mentioned I would receive complimentary oil changes for x miles. I just smiled.

Recently learned that you can control the windows from your fob by 3x tapping and holding lock/unlock buttons. Only made me question why no frunk option on the keyfob even more.

It’s pretty much impossible to read that thing and expect to retain much before having the car. It also reads worse than your average aircraft operating manual. Easier to read than most 19th century Russian novels though.
...and anyone attempting to use the index will need to use a less obvious term to locate a topic (or use "find" in a browser view or pdf version). For example, you won't find cameras, but you will find "360 camera" and "Rear View..."

If one reads the manual, they can avoid embarrassment.
I really appreciate all your contributions to this forum, I really do. And we all appreciate that YOU have read the manual so we don’t have to. But I can’t comprehend sitting down with a glass of wine on my couch and reading the manual like some sort of novel. I’ve consulted the manual about specific things…but however many hours it would have taken me to read the manuals of every car I have ever owned, I’m glad I spent that time on literally whatever else it was that I did.

I have sat down and enjoyed reading the manual on every car I have owned since 16, I find a tidbit about something and get very excited.... and the MachE manual pairs well with a Malbec by candle light

Myabe we should start a "Lighter Side of The Mach-e" thread. Where we share really hidden tidbits.

Now I have to go find one. ;)

I just went through the pdf and html versions of the owners' manual, and didn't see anything about the info I found on the nav screen. So, maybe I shouldn't be so embarrassed by my "discovery."

I picked up my new 2022 Mach-E CR1 last Saturday.

This week I received an e-mail from the dealer asking me to complete a survey and they would enter me into a drawing for a $100 gas card.

Nice! Did not know that. Does it yell at you if you do it? The Tesla raised an unholy ruckus.
No it doesnt, just gives the driver door open alert sound and message.

After owning the MME for a month or so using the charger at home I went to my first Electrify America charging station and could not figure out how to get the charger plugged into the charging port on the MME. Finally the guy next to me came over and flipped down the little plastic piece in the charging port to allow the charger to fit...stop laughing...you wanted embarrassing.
Thank you I am going to my first DCFC charger later today or tomorrow to experiment due to a long trip coming up, this probably saved me some time. ?

The first few times I had someone sit in the back seat and I would drop them off, when they unbuckled it would light up as an unbuckled passenger on the dash. For a while, I was asking people to please buckle the seat belt when they exited to avoid this. Then I read the in the manual how to disable the feature - it's way too complicated - so now I just power cycle the car (!) and that solved it. I don't understand why the car can sense when something's in the back seat and warn you when you turn it off (and it can be super light and still warn you) but when no one is there I need to know the seat belt is unbuckled...?
Hitting the OK button on the steering wheel also clears the message.
