A number of Mach e owners have purchased Ford Extended Warranties at a dealership. They said they got a better price than if they purchased the warranty directly from Ford. Is what the ford dealerships selling their own warranty or the “Ford Warranty “?

You can't purchase the warranty ""directly" from Ford. You buy it either from a dealer you bought the car from, or some other dealer. Several dealers sell it at a much lower price than others.

Dealers typically sell Ford Warranty but at a huge markup. If you want one at a significant discount then look up Granger on here, they have the best deal. Buying online from Granger is how you get the 'better price'.

I think dealers also sell third party warranty and gap and other products too. But if you have a Ford you want the Ford warranty not a third party.

I declined all the extended warranties when I purchased my vehicle except for Tire/Wheel+Cosmetic which is underwritten by a 3rd party company. I actually had to use it today, got a nail in the sidewall. Took it to the dealership and they replaced the tire. The service tech mentioned to me that I can use the warranty at any tire shop because it's a 3rd party warranty. Glad he mentioned it because I hadn't really thought about it, I thought the warranty would only be honored by the dealership.

When I go to their site, I see the various warranties, but when I download the Ford brochure, it. mentions a separate specific EV extended warranty plan, which isn't listed on the Granger site when I go through the configuration / purchase form. Anyone familiar with this discrepancy? Is there a separate "EV" warranty plan?

I had the same concern when I purchased mine. When you choose your vehicle make sure you select Mach E. Maria Grimm with Granger told me it would select the EV plan. The plan paperwork sent reflects EV plan. I emailed them and they sent me a copy of the EV plan.

Granger has the EV brochure posted, too. But when you go through and successfully put in your VIN, it’ll only give you the correct options for the electric car.

People have developed an unhealthy (in the fiscal sense) obsession with extended service contracts (ESCs). Even at a discounted price, they are usually one of the biggest wastes of money. People spend a fortune on "insurance" for their phones, computers, home appliances, and cars. And guess who's making a fortune? The ones selling those products.

Some times yes. But look at this stupid driver facing camera and the windshield cameras crapping out. Things I don’t want to pony up the money for.
These warranties are prorated when canceled, if you remember to. The PO of my MME didn’t cancel it, but I couldn’t use it. Stuff breaking that’s covered under TSB’s.. there’s a rash of threads lately where they’d have to pony up for that. Not with an ESP as my 3/36 is now a 8/100. So let my driver facing camera crap out (because with my luck it will, or, I’ll never see 6.14 to have it happen. One or the other for sure lol)

phone insurance etc sure. My 15pro max was jacked from my pocket in Rome T mobile tries to tell me how insurance would have covered it with a $150 deductible. Yeah, after I paid $600 for 2 years worth of insurance it’d save me some, but not enough for me to be excited about getting a 2 year old phone that’s worth about $250 more than I paid on that insurance and deductible.

I got mine for piece of mind that when something craps out, and it will, it should be covered for the foreseeable future.

Ford also sells tire / glass / dent warranties.

From what I've seen, dealerships often sell their own version of extended warranties that are backed by Ford. It's kind of like a dealer-branded version of the official Ford warranty. The prices can sometimes be better than going through Ford directly, so it's worth checking out if you're considering an extended warranty for your Mach E.
No, that is incorrect. Dealers sell Ford warranties, all are the same, no matter what dealership sells them. Price differs. Dealers can also sell 3rd party warranties, which no one should ever buy. And yes Ford also sells their warranties direct, and it is mote expensive than online dealers.

Not true I purchased the extended warranty directly from Ford, my dealer wasn't involved at all.

Yes, Ford does sell direct. But it's almost always more expensive than buying through a discount dealer online (like Granger, Flood, etc.).

I agree but as long as I can get them at dealer cost the peace of mind is worth the cost. But I have never used one in 34 years.
