A software update failed mid install now all sorts of things are failing. Camera view is squished, navigation doesn't work , drive modes can't be changed and it's stuck in 1 pedal drive.
I've tried all the resets, down and seek , and remove negative terminal followed by full reset...ended up bringing it into dealership, they confirmed it was a failed update and said they fixed it, but when I picked up car they issues are still present. Now I have to wait another week for next attempt for them to fix it.
Called ford and they said sorry not sorry. Not sure what I can do about it, was happy with the car up to this point but now im regretting my purchase.
Car is out of bumper to bumper warranty but only has 55000 km on it :(

How old is your 12v battery? Looks like you’re new to the MachE. A failing 12v causes all kinds of problems. If you want to try that, it’s doable by yourself with posts about it in the forum. Or, you could get a dealer to do it for around $250. The battery is almost $200, IIRC.

I've had the car for a year but it's a 2021 so im guessing the battery is from 2021... not quite sure if changing the battery would fix the issues although it might prevent future issues if the current ones can be fixed. I guess im a little upset that I may be out of pocket due to a forced update

Chances are your 12V battery needs replacing. It’s also probably the reason the update failed. I don’t think the failed update caused your issues.
Everything was working fine until the failed update.
It's probably worse if the issues were caused by poor craftsmanship.

Welcome to the forum.....sorry to hear about the trouble. Message me the VIN to see if I see anything useful. Also, @Ford Motor Company will most likley chime in and ask you to do the same so Brian can escalate it to the proper department.

I believe what others are implying is that the update failed due to low LVB voltage and the errors are also due to voltage and not the update. Many issues have been reported due to failed LVB. If you have the original in your Mach there is a good chance that is the root issue.

Honestly I hope that's it. Cheap enough fix

Similiar issue. I changed out the battery and things worked fine for a while. I thought I bought a swollen battery, changed it again. Same gremlin returned on this 3rd battery. Found out is was the charging system or module (something related). I was 2 weeks away from warranty expiration but we made it! No more Spike only Gizmo. IYKYK

Vehicle is not reporting any voltage codes. The issue started on 7/29 which is the last time PTS shows the APIM update was sent to him and failed. IMO, this is not a battery issue. Something happened. I'm looking this his ab data and the files the OTA wanted to send him looking for a mismatch.

These are the files this OTA was supposed to update. I see the JC strategy file in the F188 DID installed. However, I cannot find any of the files in the 8033 or 8068 locations. Neither the one that was there before or the one that the OTA was supposed to write. I'm no software engineer, but to my novice eyes, it looks like a partial install.

That was kind of what I was thinking...a botched update and maybe the dealership was lazy and didn't do a full reflash. (But im far from an expert and my source was Google so who knows)

The dealer most likely cannot fix this without involving Ford's TAC (technical assistance center) team. There may be some back-end data issues that need to be corrected after the seemingly botched update. I am not a software engineer by any stretch, but I've learned enough about this stuff to opine that whatever happened with this OTA seems abnormal.

That was my experience with my pre-owned ‘21 Job 1. Purchased it without knowing that a previous OTA had failed and was blocking all subsequent OTA’s. Discovered the failure when our ‘22 was delivered and salesman was demonstrating APIM features that were not yet available on the ‘21. Dealer‘s service department was unable to execute A TSB and initially tried to blame it on a USB port that had been damaged by a spilled drink. After a couple months of haggling with dealer —and belly-aching through this forum— Ford dispatched an engineer from Dearborn to Northwest Arkansas. Took less than 4 hours to clear the fault and execute outstanding updates. Other than the unexpected death of the LVB LAST YEAR it has been trouble-free driving since December ‘22.
