Back home from my trip where I had zero success using the A2Z. Called the company, guy called back and had me go to a tesla supercharger, then FaceTimed me telling how to do it. No go. Passed me on to anothe guy, he helped, no go. Now they are overnighting me another adapter.

The company’s customer service is great, can’t say enough good things about them. I really, really want this adapter to work and this company to be successful. But…damn.. So. Fingers crossed!
Frankly, the locking slider is just not a great design. There’s a lot of owners being challenged by it. The Tesla’s latch just works so much better. Hopefully your replacement unit solves the problem for you. Good luck!

Yes, the slide latch kinda sucks. The labeling on it is also confusing. They are working on a new version that eliminates the slide latch. They also have good support if you somehow end up with a defective one.

Those of you with working A2Z, does your slider stay in the unlocked position? I’ve noticed that i have to hold it in the unlock position for the inside nub to depress. When I let go, it goes into a half-lock position. I can get it to the full lock position when empty. When I was attempting to use it yesterday, I had to hold it in the open position while first inserting the Tesla handle, but I couldn’t get the Tesla handle in far enough to be able to fully lock the adapter. I had to pull really hard and wiggle it to separate. I will call A2Z, but they aren’t open right now.

I was able to contact A2Z and after a FaceTime, it was determined to be a defective adapter. New one should arrive tomorrow. ?Customer service is great! ?

Mine does the same. Yes you need to slide the latch fully open before inserting the cable in case it moved to half locked.

The socket needs to be 1 mm deeper which is the main fitment issue with it.

I turns out that mine will not stay in the unlock/open position before attempting to insert the charger. Hence a new one is on the way.

New A2Z "user". Haven't managed to get the "CLICK" yet. Have applied maximum force. Have tried a number (3 is a number?) different stalls. Have now watched a number of YT videos, it seems you really need to make sure the bottom slide is hard pushed to OPEN when you're putting the NACS end in, then pushing to closed. Gonna try that. Also, not a small person.

It looks to me like the charge cable end needs to go in about 5mm more. I've tried putting the adapter against the tire (handy soft rubber bit inches from my charge port :p ) and leaning my full weight in, slamming the entire cable in, etc. No joy.

I don't get a click, and I don't get a charge. Tried to charge and got the expected result. Good interlock, A2Z guys!

...

At least for me, the "it's a little stiff" is an understatement....

Maybe I should have stuck with my Lectron order :-( They sent me a friendly note about how they have chargers now and gave me a code good for some amount off for the next few days in case I change my mind and want to re-order.
Followup. My adapter is ok.

Dont need to carry a 2x4, the tire works great. The force has to be applied on the cylindrical section only! If you apply near the dc section insertion is harder as the force is uneven.

Checking the slide right before insertion is key for me.

Checking slide right after click is also key. On my adaper, being clicked is not enough, the slide has to be all the way forward as well, otherwise you get failed charge and the amber lights. The action of insertion doesn't get the slide all the way forward.

I also like turning the adapter upside down, it helps me not slide the latch accidentally.

Hope this helps
