Hey all,

For the past few weeks, my FMC has started charging fine (blue bar all across),but after about an hour or so, seems to reduce charging speed to about 3 kWh per hour. I have gone outside at the approximately the end of the charge session, and have blue light with amber on one side, indicating a charging fault. I just pulled the pigtail, and it… looks bad in there. So, is there anything I can do, short of just ditching this EVSE? I haven’t charged with it in weeks for other reasons, but can I rehab the contact points?

For the record, I’m totally okay with the reduced speed, it a safety issue that I’m concerned about.

It is slowing down because it is overheating. I am no expert but perhaps the overheating may have been from a poor connection. Personally I might clean the contacts and try it again but only if I were to monitor it while charging. Serious potential fire hazard I would be worried about. It may just be best to not use it again.
