My take on it too. This seems like a disclaimer coming from legal to make it harder to blame Ford if someone gets locked out while an update is going on.The email is so vague and seemed to me to basically be sent as a CYA message from their lawyers making sure you understood that some updates may cause you to not be able to drive or lock your car.
I wonder what most owners would think about it -- I bet most expect an OTA in the next day, but that's probably far from Ford's purpose in sending it.
