Step 1 — find a charging station: You can do this in FordPass in 2 ways: (1) select “View nearby chargers” in the horizontal box in the middle of the the first page of FordPass; or (2) select the “map” function on the bottom of the first page and then select the “charging” option in the drop down of the map. See, pics 1 and 2, respectively.

Then click on a specific charging station (from the list if you use option one, or on on the map if you use option 2). See pic 3

Step 2 - After you select a particular charging station,, select a specific charger if there are multiple charging stations in one location. See pic 4. After you tap on an individual station there will be a page describing the cost, etc., and an option to “activate” the station. See pic 5

Step 3- activate the station and then plug it into the MMe.

After reading your post, I followed the instructions and was successful using Plug & Charge. However, I did receive the Charge Station Fault error and was directed to check the Owners Manual.

Has anyone else seen this issue? I stopped the session on the charging station after hitting 80%, thought I heard the unlocking clicks, and pressed the button before disconnected the cable.

I believe @eastern refugee found that the same basic procedure worked from the EA app. Select the charger, initiate charging, and then plug in. Worked for him reliably. If he ran the sequence backwards it didn't work.

Seems like the problem with with EA is that the chargers are having trouble with the sequencing of the steps. If you plug in as the last step it works. If you plug in first and then try to start the process it doesn't. Doesn't matter if it's the EA app or FordPass.

I get the Fault error on public charging stations all the time (typically upon either plug/unplug). At home, I can pull the plug mid-charge without getting a fault.

I wouldn't want that to be potentially "butt dialed" though. I'm guessing they demand a long press to ensure it's intentional. Maybe a double tap would be quicker but less likely to happen in a pocket unintentionally.
It's definitely possibly to butt-dial the lock/unlock feature. I accidentally locked my car via FordPass while it was in my garage - fob inside with the windows down. I didn't realize it was locked until I was getting ready to drive off and found the car locked (to my surprise). I reached in through the open window and tried to open the door with the inside handle - all that accomplished was to set the alarm off! I half crawled through the window to reach the fob and kill the alarm. ?

this is clearly fake news, because key fobs are perfect and shall not have their reputation tarnished on this site!

good day, sir!

I SAID GOOD DAY!

If you read carefully, I fault the FordPass app, not the fob! The almighty fob shall not be dissed!

At home I get the fault sometimes when unplugging in the middle of a charging cycle. I think this even gave me the "Service Vehicle Soon" message once. (Not sure it was early and other things were going on). Haven't used a DC charger yet.

Hey Dave,
Wondering if you tried to disable/cancel the alarm using FordPass? It would make sense to be able to cancel the alarm just as you can with the fob, right? Maybe you were more concerned with just stopping the noise, though.........

Does anyone know what triggers an update of your vehicle charging status in Ford Pass? I checked my vehicle this morning after arriving home from a long trip and found it was last update more than 11 hours ago. I plugged in at home and shows 47% charge so charging wasn't the trigger. I have PAAK set up and it is active in my notifications. I've tried logging out of the app and back in but that doesn't have any effect.

It would be nice if the charge status was updated more frequently than 11 hours or having to start the vehicle.

Exactly! The quickest way to stop it was to reach for the fob as opposed to fumbling in my pocket, unlock the phone, launch the app.......etc

Funny thing happened to me today. I was at work and went out to lunch. Going to back to my car to leave, I stuck my hand in my pocket and panicked because my car key was gone (it’s the only key I carry normally).

After searching the restaurant, I gave up and used my Ford app (paak) to open and drive off.

Low and behold, when I arrived back home, my car key was on my kitchen counter. Lol

I must have left without it and PaaK was working the entire time without me realizing it. It’s reassuring and now I’m thinking of not carrying any keys at all any longer!

I thought you all might appreciate the humor and review/endorsement for PaaK.
