I should probably do the same if this 2nd and 'final' fix doesn't work. I love the BC but the last time it unexpectedly kicked off, I was doing 65-ish in #2 lane and vehicle decelerated. This actually is a significant safety defect of the system in 1PD. (One time the car swerved.) Ford needs to throw every available engineer on this straightaway. By the way, I totally LOVE my GT and wish it was 100% functional again!
its not ever getting fixed.

Idk, prior to the recent bc updates, the car wouldn’t disengage and slam on brakes.
I think this is a safety recall level issue IMO… quick software fix I assume, but it could hurt someone now

I have the ‘21 select rwd with comfort package and the error messages didn’t come up till august. Thought it was related to heat etc but then found this thread! To see I am not the only one. I haven’t contacted my dealer yet, I was kinda waiting for some promising news from someone. But should I still have them try those updates someone posted?? Frustrating cause we paid for these features and to not work at all is annoying. I understand we might have to wait for an update etc but we are working on almost 3 months now of issues.

Just cut your losses and file a lemon law complaint .

You are paying for something that ford can’t provide. Unless they feel pressure from customers and some sort of financial loss they are under zero pressure to fix this for anyone

It is definitely worth it to at least try scheduling a service visit if you are still under factory warranty. Yes, at the very least they will update / reset all the modules which at least seems to help. It also provides an avenue for Ford to hear about these systemic issues.

I’m now wondering if this is a software and hardware issue. Perhaps the June/July BC update exposed the issue. Perhaps the issue was there all along with faults occurring and the prior software recovering/handling or hiding the issue. The new software is less forgiving, BC has to be more precise and we now see the problem which eventually disables for front camera and the collision avoidance system.

I’m not taking my car into the dealership for another round until I see someone on this forum have some type of success. It looks like @MachEnation has a Ford engineer working this issue and I want to see how that goes. I don’t want to waste my time.

Perhaps Ford should just disable Blue Cruise in the MME and see if that helps the problem? I’d rather have a car that functions properly than tomorrow’s technology shoehorned into today.

Yeah and it's probably pretty obvious, but I'm basically on a one-person mission to force Ford to root cause solve this issue! That's why I'm sharing every little detail I can here, just in case there is some clue or hint.

Summary so far so those new to the thread don't necessarily have to go back,

  • IMPB replaced - Nope
  • Reset / re-align - Nope
  • IMPA replaced - Nope
  • Reset / re-align (again) - Nope
  • Update every module (to latest in FDRS, I assume) - Nope
Just wanted to update after this second "fix". The morning after getting the car back, the Front Camera Fault re-appeared and stuck the entire way to our weekend destination approximately 1 1/2 hours of driving. The next day, the fault cleared and stayed off for the entire trip back. Since then, the fault has appeared again temporarily. It appears as though the two "fixes" from my trips to the dealer service has restored the problem from being always-fault, back to temporary fault like how the problem initially started back in, June.
So I have an interesting update to our issue. I've quoted the last couple of summaries above for those new to the thread.

This week, we have not had the message display. Now I should say, the Mach E has been driven less, and not on any highways. But , for now, this is the longest without the fault in months.

I think I only saw it twice this week, which is less than normal. I suspect as it gets cooler the errors will be less frequent. Then next summer it will start all over again.

2021 job 1 just got Pre-Collision Assist Not Available yesterday. Seems ephemeral- I've seen it pop a couple of times in the past, but it never sticks around after restarting the car. I have a standing appointment at my dealership next week, so we'll see what comes of that.

Sorry if this was repeated in the other 13 pages. My errors started a few weeks ago and I’ve noticed that a bump usually sets them off. Sadly relieved to see this is a Ford-wide issue. I’m tired of these issues…

UPDATE #2: Dealer replaced the Driver Status module box (pupil/eye camera) on top the steering column and updated all outstanding software for multiple modules. Tech was advised by Ford that this would correct all PCA/FC faults since any problems in the driver status module will initiate more faults in BC.

RESULT: I drove 4.8 mi after picking up car at dealer and FC/PCA faults reappeared! I was just about to celebrate too! It's too bad you can't just return the car with your original receipt and ask for an exchange at store return counter. I think these two repairs have cost Ford $5k+! I've lost a few hours of time dropping off and picking up.... And still not fixed. This is coding flaw and every available Ford software engineer needs to get on it 24/7. LOVE the car -- a lot -- but not happy with this still unresolved safety issue. @Ford Motor Company

So just to add my piece--Ford has no solution. My car is still at the dealership, which has been great, but it's been for a couple weeks on its third visit for the issue. It's delayed because engineering had to come out, and ultimately admit they're stumped. End result? Installing a data logger now so that engineering can track and log all the circumstances of the issue so they can develop a solution that will actually stick. I'm basically beta-testing. I should be getting paid. But, maybe this "testing" period will result in something positive for all of us.

I have a RWD, Select -- the "basee-ist" of base models (I literally have no options, including BC).

But at least I've got a sweet Lightning to drive around in the meantime (by the way, I've driven this truck for a total of a month now over the last X number of dealer visits and have had ZERO problems with it--can't say enough good things about it).

Unfortunately, I practically stole this car with all the tax credits and state incentives, so I really don't want to go lemon law or shopping for a new one in this overpriced market. So I really hope this little "experiment" I'm going to run for Ford works out.
@MachEnation Any updates with dealer's data capture yet? I'm hoping Ford will put out a TSB soon! Need to bring my GT back for attempt #3 and they may do a data logger too. I required a 100% BEV as a loaner this time since gas has now shot up in So. Cal. Should I take a Tesla rental from Enterprise if offered? This 3rd "fix" is likely to take longer than a couple days.

I mean, take whatever BEV they offer you. But if you want to actually come out ahead, it is super simple and easy to just get the dealer or the BEV team to reimburse your gas receipts... that's what I did. You then aren't paying for electricity on the BEV either, although I'd probably take the BEV over gas even though it costs more (since they won't reimburse the charging costs) just because I prefer them now hahahaha.

The BEV team (case manager) said flat-out that Ford will not reimburse any gasoline receipts for me while using a back-up family ICE car. I'm not costing them rental company daily fees but no dice on comped gas! I tried........ My Camry Hybrid gets 37 MPG at least! Dealer has been great so far. My service advisor will reserve a Tesla for me on repair attempt #3!
