Don't be so negative. My car is going on only 2+ weeks in the shop for repair attempt #3! Maybe 30 or so days cumulative! I'm praying it'll be done by end of week after 4 module replacements and hours of updating/calibrations!this issue is never getting resolved
Sorry if you've already mentioned this, but how did they fix it? Did they find a specific problem? What was the solution?Got my car back yesterday. So far, so good, all the updates and they are working beautifully. BC working so far with no faults.
I even got Alexa and YouTube to work. Crossing my fingers but if Ford finally fixed my car I might start singing their praise again. Glad I didn’t take their buyback offer.
I want to say it’s the front camera, the one on the windshield, that they replaced and that finally worked. But honestly, they did a million and one things and perhaps a combination of everything? They did so many trial and errors, I can’t say 100% for sure because I know others have had their front camera replaced and still have issues. ?Sorry if you've already mentioned this, but how did they fix it? My vehicle has been at the dealership for almost 2 weeks now, and so far they're still throwing their hands in the air waiting for some word (via email only, apparently) from Ford.
Thanks.I want to say it’s the front camera, the one on the windshield, that they replaced and that finally worked. As the great Bernie Mac once said, “I got mine, you better get yours!’
All joking aside, I’m hesitant to say that was the definite fix because everyone sounds like they’ve had different results with similar trials. I am sorry that this great car is being dragged down by such a minor appearing issue, yet resulting in a huge loss of usability from going back and forth to the shop , despite the driveability being mostly intact
Meh, hopefully they realize it can be jerky sometimes in traffic. Or they're trying to turn too fast and Curve Control is kicking in. Otherwise that would be a cruise radar alignment issue (it's between the grille shutters under the bumper).UPDATE: My MME is still in the shop (3rd attempt). The SA and tech road-tested a couple days and found that it was phantom braking for some strange reason. It would decelerate and brake when no vehicle was in the direct lane path. Camera was aligned/calibrated but BC is not working normally per SA. They do not want to release the car back to me even though no FC/PCA errors are being thrown out. Will f/u with hotline again. Ugggggggggg.
Oh... And my salesman has the exact same problem on his '21 premium (wife's daily driver)! Won't bring it in for service because it's not affecting drivability yet.
Update: got a call from the ford rep today. Was told that some kind of wiring has been ordered and the dealership will call me when it comes in. What wiring, idk but I’ll give an update when I found out. Also, had the car for about two weeks. Gotten the fault messages about 3 times during the first week and not at all this week. Last time was Saturday and the camera was in direct sunlight.I have a CR1 as well. I’m back in my car but it’s not fixed. I was told the engineers think it’s a software issue and are working to figure out how to fix it. When they do, an update will be sent
That really sucks. I'm on module #4 replacement and multiple updates and calibrations as advised by tech staff (engineers?) on Ford's service support hotline. No engineer has come out in-person to assist with my Mach E GT which is strange because on a 3rd repair attempt, wouldn't a manufacturer be extremely worried about not getting it right? It's not like I'm in the middle of the CA Mojave Desert, ha!I just found this thread and though I would add my experience. i may have been one of the first if not the first to report this issue (see thread link below). I picked up my car in April 2021 and started having the front end camera failure in late Nov 2021. The car was in and out of the dealer for about 6 weeks. At one point I did not have the car for almost a month. They kept installing a new module and it would fail. We would have to wait for another module...install.. fail... Four times this happened. I contacted Ford out of frustration. They sent an engineer from Michigan. Fifth module was installed and the problem was solved...or so I thought.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and the camera failed again. Brought it in 'Oh now we understand the problem. They have anew updated module". This time they replaced the module while I was at wrk and I got the car back the same day. That repair lasted about 24 hours. Now the camera failure warning is coming up every minute or two with an audible warning. If I hit the OK button it goes away but comes back a minute or two later. If I do nothing the warning still repeats after a minute or two.
In addition I now have a separate issue. I get the door open warning whenever I turn the car off and the center console animation no longer comes on during start up, who cares but just another weird fault.
My issue now is that I have 16,000 miles on the car. NYS lemon law claims have to be submitted before 18,000 miles. I can't afford to give Ford much time to provide a permanent solution and will have to make a decision in the next week or two although I have heard that once you do that the company will no longer help with repairs. Will update this with any new developments
