Sooo….since June and multiple visits, they’ve updated and reprogrammed the software on the IMPA and PSC, replaced the IMPB, reprogrammed the SOBDM and BECM using FDRS, replaced the cables connecting to the modules/cameras. They showed me photos of all the work needed to replace the cables.

Nothing worked so far. The last fix currently, however, is they have replaced the camera on the windshield and that one is working so far. Crossing my fingers.

Good grief!!!! That’s some surgery!!!

So practically ripping your car apart helps solidify even more this probably isn’t hardware.

I live in the Washington DC area, and I have just began to have these error messages on my car over the last few weeks. I will be letting the dealer know that there is a problem when I drop it off for the recalls and the OK button replacement.

Holy cow and a half!!!! You can't beat the poor master tech for effort on this one! Seriously dove into this problem head-on. Did a Ford regional specialist help out at least in-person? My biggest fear is you'll find a stray screw or bolt somewhere later on under the mat and think hopefully this wasn't important.... Wow! After my entire dash was removed on a prior car I found a stray screw... ehhh, must of not been vital, ha-ha. My MME is still in the shop and FC was replaced along with 2 IPMA's! So far it's testing out OK..... on tech road trips.

So, here's where I am...

I had already brought it in because of the periodic Camera Fault notice. The dealer handled it by re-downloading the BlueCruise update. That didn't fix the problem. .

About 2 weeks ago the periodic fault notice became permanent. Always on. Not able to use BlueCruise, regular Adaptive Cruise, or any of the other "Assistance" features. I took it in Monday. Today is Friday, and I just got my first report from the dealer. Essentially, they're waiting to hear from the Ford techs, and will then start all the [ABCD] acronym stuff you all have already listed above.

I have to say, I don't have a good feeling about. Fingers crossed they fix it. But based on reports above, I suspect we're headed to a teardown search for loose wires. Then maybe a buy back. Sigh...

At least they've agreed to take care of the rental I'm currently in, and will switch me out to a Ford loaner on Monday. The least they could do, but you never know with individual dealerships.

Still, I love this vehicle. If they can't fix the tech glitches, I'm hoping I can make a reasonable trade to a newer model with the kinks already worked out.

Current vehicle: California Edition, delivered June 2021.

In particular, submitting the safety report to NHTSA will help to bring more eye balls to the issue, and perhaps if enough people report some commonality can be discovered that will lead to a breakthrough.

Good lord. I am not gonna let the service center do surgery on my car for what is almost certainly another software bug. I’m starting to second-guess even taking it in on Monday.

I hope you do still bring it in, there always is the possibility your issue is different. Regardless of whether you choose to bring it in or not, I do hope you consider reporting this safety problem to NHTSA so that Ford can understand how many folks are experiencing the issue; it only takes a couple minutes to submit the form: https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem

I’ve had the Pre-Collision Assist Fault every time I’ve driven the car since the day after I picked it up two months ago. I’ve never taken it in for service (I don’t do a ton of highway driving, so it’s not a huge inconvenience). Yesterday I got the OTA 22S41 and 22S29 Recall update, and the Pre-Collision Fault has gone away!

So hopefully it was just a weird software glitch and I’m good to go now ?

I’m almost 3 months out from my visit to the dealer. My error started in April 2022 and by late May it was permenant. Since August, I only received three quick camera faults that all went away in a minute. Could that have been a dirty camera? Don’t know.

In August I got windshield re-glue recall, 21P22, 22S41 (junction box recall), and a failed 21G01 (so still no Blue Cruise).

ETA: I did fill out NHTSA just now because when you’re using cruise control and that error pops up and disables it - it’s damn dangerous and unnerving.

During the windshield recall, they have to reset/recalibrate the camera system, which is also one of the steps that the service departments do for those of us that have taken our cars in. I would guess that is the nature of what causes the faults to go from permanent to occasional the same as in our case.

One thing I've noticed with these vehicles is the trunk hood rubbed up against the facia and has for me since day one it also leaks a lot of water from around the edges of the front trunk hood which drips down into the camera area I've had this come up a couple of times but ultimately resolving itself when in the warm sun got rid of any moisture another pain in the butt little feature in bed engineering on Ford's part.

I'm kinda at an impass with ford right now.

Dealer I think honestly has no clue what to do and isn't prioritizing getting the car in for service... Ford BEV is struggling to even get the dealer to respond to them...

Based on everything in the forums, I kinda feel like I just need to sit and wait and pray someone at ford figures this out... otherwise its' just circles of aggravation.

I will say... a road I was constantly getting the errors on today... I got none...? it's ~20deg cooler and overcast today... maybe has something to do with temperature? who the heck knows.

As like any others, I LOVE the car.... but this is frustrating.

As someone in EA, I feel like there should be a way to escelate or get a hold of someone technical to talk about these things.... make it a two way street... not just a way to survey folks and push updates out before others...

Ford _has_ to respond to NHTSA, so submitting a report might get your case looked at

I have a CR1 as well. I’m back in my car but it’s not fixed. I was told the engineers think it’s a software issue and are working to figure out how to fix it. When they do, an update will be sent
