Super frustrating. Called 3 dealerships and BEV called 4 others. Nobody can even look at my car for 3 weeks. NYC tri state area.
BEV is pretty much offering no help until the car is in a dealers hands and say they are at the mercy of dealerships (not to mention have been sort of rude).

Hey, All.

I've been on-and-off this thread with various "Front Camera Fault & Pre-Collision Assist Not Available" problems. So, I thought I'd let you know where I am. There will not be a lot of tech speak here. I'm not that guy. I'll try to convey the basics.

1. The fault problem started soon after Blue Cruise was downloaded. At first it was occasional, then frequent, then permanent.
2. The first dealer solution was to "fix" the software with a new download. That worked temporarily. But a few weeks later, I was again getting the occasional fault error. Not the same as before. It wasn't frequent or permanent. It would come back occasionally and only temporarily, but it did come back.
3. Finally I took it back to the dealership for the much-lauded coaxial cable replacement. They kept it for 3-4 days, and I got it back 10 days ago. So far so good. No new faults yet. Fingers crossed.

Here's my take-away (worth the paper it's written on):
1. The coaxial cable replacement may be the ultimate solution for most of us. On this forum, I haven't yet seen reports of people having continual problems after that has been replaced. So far. Fingers crossed. BUT... You're going to have to have the patience to work through a few steps to get there.

2. They're going to try a software fix before replacing your coaxial cable. That's just going to happen. Kind of like when tech support makes you power cycle your computer, even though you've already done it several times. It's just something they need to check off the list. Once that doesn't work, then they can get to the hardware issues, ie the coaxial cable.

3. If you are contacted by Ford via this forum, consider trusting them with your car information. Ultimately, your local dealer/mechanic is just learning this stuff. And the "fix" ultimately comes down to the locals being online with HQ, who will walk them through fixing your problem. Also, if you are lucky enough to have HQ reach out on your behalf to your dealership to plan and schedule your service/repair, that can streamline the process IMMENSELY.

4. None of this has been at any cost to me. The dealership also paid for rental cars and/or loaners.

Anyways... My 2 cents. Worth the paper it's written on. Hopefully, someone finds this helpful.

To be fair, there is a software issue at play as well. Not for everyone. And even for those who do have it the dealer is unlikely to resolve it on their own without assistance from their hotline.

There is additional guidance being drafted for the dealers so others hopefully won't have to go through this same drawn out process. But it's a slow process to get anything published

I have had this issue permanently on the car for months. Want to get it fixed but don't want it to sit in dealer for weeks with nothing fixed. I have only had 1 software update and had this car for almost a year, so could be that I have something blocking it.

Spoke with a dealer today that will make some room for me to at least start running diagnostics.

Spoke to the service manager, and he shared a lot of news that was pretty concerning.

Smaller dealership... he said he personally had 4 Mach E's that have the Front Camera fault issue... and he was able to name off all the discussion points of this thread (seems to be bump related... comes and goes... etc.).

Sadly, he said the Engineering Hotline is still telling them to just "reprogram the module" and are NOT recommending any part replacements. He said he has a car that had the reprogram... then is back 3 weeks later with the same issue. He said they did try an IPMA replacement on one car and it didn't resolve.

Anyone who has successfully solved this... any chance you'd be willing to share a case number or any documentation I could try to share with this dealer to reference with Corporate?

Sounds like we're really no closer to a TSB or anything to "really" solve this outside of a few folks who have been successful pushing dealers...

I am going to push my dealer to replace that first section of coax harness, but my appt isn't until 3/2....

I dumped all recorded error codes (DTC) the other day, but I don't see anything that jumps out at me as being specifically related to the front camera.... but I may not have CarScanner reading the right sensors/modules for our MME.

errors 4,6,7 sure look suspicious to me as MAYBE being related to front camera

If anyone familiar with DTC and what modules I should enable/disable in my CarScanner profile, let me know! how about it @MachLee ? This is what I got:

I haven't had any luck getting CarScanner to pull anything tied to this... though having it reset the DTC codes does clear the errors...but they quickly return

oh wait... just realized I may be reading these results wrong.

I saw the disclaimer from carscanner that those tests may be ignorable... didn't think about what it's saying though.

I just figured those are all false positives that had not been tested

I'll pull it again tomorrow

That (software first, doesn't work, then IPMA, doesn't work, then finally something else) is basically most of our stories here.

I honestly can't say what finally fixed mine, assuming it's really fixed for the long term (Truth be told, I am waiting for the heat of summer before really declaring victory). I posted all my invoices in earlier posts in this thread for folks to dissect. They all seem to say the same thing to my layman ears.

So had the issue, went to the dealer they fixed it, installed the blue cruise update. It was working well until.... I used blue Cruise for the first time then it came back. And left. Noticed it would go hay wire when there would be a construction area, the fault would trigger or lanes that aren't perfect (NY metro area). Now it's stuck I cleaned the camera area so that's not it. Blue cruise was nice while it lasted.

Folks - reading a lot of this thread, here's my question.

1. I do have the "Pre-Collision Assist Not Avaialble" message appear in the FordPass app for the last few weeks.
2. I have no error messages in my car about pre-collision assist being available or not. Don't want to try to get into an accident to see if it actually works. :)
3. I don't have the "Front camera" error being mentioned here.

I brought my car in to look at this and a couple of other issues, and they said everything passed.

Is this the same issue others are talking about here? Or is this just a FordPass app thing and there's nothing to worry about?

Thank you!

I get both. One in the ipc and one in the app. I did have my coax cable replaced and it has been solid since
