I have been getting these errors a lot recently. Driving on the highway and they pop up then go away within 3 minutes. Should I have this checked out? I figured the dealer would want the car to be displaying the error message when I take it in, but it fixes itself after 3 to 5 mins of driving.
I had the same problem and had to get my ECU replaced they said I had to pay for it and it took a month to get the part and fix it

I am surprised ECU fixed this problem. I'm even more surprised it was not covered by warranty. I would suggest you contact @Ford Motor Company and have them chat with your dealer

Whelp I finally took a turn for the worse.

No fix was done by Ford but the issue self resolved for a while... then the last few weeks it started happening again randomly...

Now it seems to be permanent... getting all the warning errors the second I turn on the car as well as it is staying persistent in FordPass.

For giggles, I tried to clear DTC codes and got the car into a weird state... you could turn on cruise control, but says "SET" for speed and won't actually set the speed... but doesn't error out. Turn car on//off and errors out again.

Off to BEV team I go.........

Welp I bit the bullet and took my car in at 35,665 miles. I didnt want to because I know it will be a multiple trip ordeal and had hoped @Ford Motor Company would acknowledge the issue and put out a TSB after this many incidents. I told the service advisor what seemed to fix this issue for many other owners but, he said they have to do their own diagnosis and more than likely a re-program would work and they will need the car for 2 days. I would encourage everyone here to file a complaint with NHTSA so Ford is forced to do something because this is dangerous if you are mid ACC/BlueCruise and there are a lot of similar incidents. Not to mention you are unable to use a lot of features of the car when this condition occurs. Report a Vehicle Safety Problem, Equipment Issue | NHTSA

Just got the call back from the dealership. They said they couldnt find any error codes and that I should use Fordpass so they can remotely get the DTCs. I've been using Fordpass since day one. They said they recommend I remove my dash cam since it might be interfering. I told them it is not, they should check the connections to the camera to which they replied they see no error codes. Mildly frustrating since I expected this. Guess Ill live with the issue

I started convo with @Ford Motor Company , gave them all the background, vin, etc, and was just assigned a BEV case number.... I do not expect speedy resolution, but I will push for remote FDRS and suggest the 'camera failure issue' be evaluated for possible TSB or SSM response considering all the incidents I've seen on the Forum lately.

Just picked up the car and they said my dash cam wires could have caused damage to the front camera wire harness which is impossible. My dash cam wires go around the passenger side and the front camera wires go around the driver side. Then they said they couldn't find any DTCs related to the error and I should use fordpass to share vehicle data. I double checked the connected car settings and they're all on. 7 minutes after leaving the dealership I got the error message again. Very disappointed!

since you've been in there, I'd suggest popping off that cover and making sure the connector from front camera is secure. The other errors I've read resolved mostly involve replacement of that first section of coax wire harness. Could be connector at either end, or wire in the middle....

and PLEASE post any tips or tricks to popping that cover off, I don't want to break off any connectors, but I do want to check that connection to see if it might be causing my problem.....

I was about to post too asking if anyone has any instructions or tips on digging into this themselves. Does anyone have access to an engineering manual with steps?

I called 3 dealerships today and the absolute earliest appointment I could find was 2.5 weeks from now…. This is super unacceptable

@Ford Motor Company - you really need to get your act together. BEV has zero influence over dealers and I’m stuck with a car that now has multiple safety systems failing and/or disabled.

Well, looks like I am part of this group now. Just got my first "Front Camera Fault" yesterday, and it went away after a few minutes. I thought, "Maybe it will just be a minor thing that pops up from time to time."
Then I had three faults on my 40 minute commute to work this morning. I filed an online report with NHTSA, and I'll probably call my dealership after my trip this weekend.
What's really dumb is that I would be fine if I could just permanently disable the stupid, unnecessary camera, but it (for reasons unknown) takes down my cruise control with it, which I can't live without.

sorry to hear you've been inflicted with the camera bug.

my understanding is that the front camera is used for 'Driver Assist' features like Adaptive Cruise Control to measure distance between you and car in front. Also used for lane centering and other Assist features I don't care about either....

If you turn off 'Adaptive' cruise control, I think you still have 'regular' cruise control, but of course then you may or may not notice when you no longer have safe distance.....

I only use regular cruise control, and it still won't let me use it while the error is present. Ford software engineers are the worst...

oooohhhh.....
so far I've only had the Camera Alert blink briefly, so I haven't experienced the Alert on-screen for long, or regular cruise disabled.

Hi David. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this for you.
