Front Camera Fault & Pre-Collision Assist Not Available Errors

After paying , I don’t know if problem will be fixed. If problem still exist they will replace something else and charge more

I have this issue on and off. Went to dealer replaced ipma module and front camera. They billed 2800 Ford cover 1900 rest I have to pay. They have 8 year 60000 electric warranty. I don’t know, this is bs. Ford is always be fix or repair daily…

Isn’t it 8 year 100k or 80k miles

Yes, 100000 miles. I have 49000 miles and problem started since they replace windshield. They said even though problem started during warranty period but problem still exist after warranty period. All repair made after warranty period , they cover partially. Also if the problem still does not fix. You have to pay for next part replacement if it is not replaced in replaced previously

I don’t know how is Tesla reliability and warranty of electronics glitch but it seems to me better buy hybrid.

.... problem started since they replace windshield. ....

as did many others.

I am convinced that techs messing with the windshield running tools around the edges *probably* pull on the mini-coax cable pretty hard, and in some cases the resulting strain *may* create sketchy signal.

I'd say chances of fixing the problem simply by wiggling the connector, and rotating to relieve the strain, are just as good as replacing the camera.

Guess I’ll be making another trip to the service center. I’ve been keeping all the error messages in FordPass…

4 in all of 2022, starting in October. Then 7 more since March of this year.

try checking the connector yourself.....
- pop off the black cover (5 clips)
- rotate the coax cable/connector around to relieve strain
- pop cover back on
- clear codes either with ODB2, or hard-reset by disconnecting 12v fuse or battery for 15 minutes and re-connecting.

have you tried self-fix ?
- pop cover off front camera above rearview mirror. 5 clips
- rotate mini-coaxial cable around to relieve stress and sharp bend
- push in to make sure connection is seated
..... and .... clear DTC to see if you get another error.
