My dealer says it is done at the factory. I hope you are right!
I do too but several members said it was mounted on bumper when they took delivery. I looked up bumper plugs but found out they don’t have Infinite Blue Metallic available.

An $8.00 bottle of touch-up paint from your dealer can fix that. Just order the closest color and paint them.
Good point. They replied it would cost me a lot more for them to make the plugs in that color. I just wish I hadn’t changed my mind as originally I was OK with OEM brackets but then decided I wanted Craigs.

Just go with the OEM bracket if it’s already installed anyway. If you ever end up removing it for some reason, you can deal with plugging the holes at that point.

Yeah, like I said, that was my initial plan. I’m just out the cost of buying Craig’s plate; anybody want one? LOL

Yea, must be something new as my previous experience was they were always a dealer installed item. I'm pretty ticked about it as I could have asked the dealer to delete that from the order had I known there was a change in the process- since I mentioned it to them at the time.

For those of you that have a car that hasn't gone into production yet but care, be sure to have your dealer delete it from the order.

Yes, it's a minor issue in the grand scheme of things, but my van doesn't have a plate on the front and by no means is it as aesthetically important, nor was it an order. Just a really annoying thing when it just happens to be the most expensive car you have ever purchased, and your expectations were set accordingly. Not to mention the extra delay time to consider it.

I heard the same that the factory does it. When we see our orders and see a free front bracket in it (we see this in the VIN stickers) - I am assuming this tells factory to install it. I wish I knew to ask for this to be removed by the dealer in the order before production began. I did tell the dealer to not install when they get teh car and thats when he said it comes that way from the factory.

UPDATE: Just spoke with a dealer about 50 miles away that received an FE that the original customer declined. No photos to confirm, but he stated that the car was received without the front bracket installed, nor have they installed it. As with all the others to California the bracket is listed on the window sticker, so it wasn't deleted from the order.

Waiting to hear from the fellow forum member that checked it out if that was really the case.

Who would've thought this would be such a quandary.

OK. I'm done for today on this project, but I did contact another dealer in Marin County that has received at least one customer order and he also stated that the bracket was not installed at the factory, they did it during customer prep.

The saga continues. ?

Ok, just watched the video posted from Morgan Hill Ca Ford, showing an FE coming off the truck with the bracket installed. As usual this forum info is better than talking to the dealerships. I guess they will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you in. Anyway, best wishes to everyone, done with the front plate issue now.

News Flash! I texted my dealer and told him to remove the OEM license plate holder from my order as it doesn't have a VIN yet. I'm back to using my Craig's license plate holder!
