It’s been a frustrating few weeks. On 8/24 I received several alerts “Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power, Hill Start Assist warning,Pre-Collision assist Not Available”. The Dealer said his EV tech “Only 1 in the shop” could look at it next week. Once it was determined that I needed a new front motor and the part would not make it to the dealer until 9/13. Delivery date came and went, still no word.
I have spoken to the @Ford Motor Company Customer service specialist “Case Number given back on 8/25” and they said they would investigate. They never called me back. I am currently in a rental that is costing me more that the $40. BTW it’s still not determined that they will even reimburse me. Dealers said no loaners available at this time “But you are on the list”. I am frustrated that a 2021 with 45,000 miles would have this type of failure. I don’t see a topic for motor failures, is this a rare problem? I understand that Software issues can be a continuing problem. But Parts should not take that long. The dealer has 18 Mach E’s on the lot. They tried to sell me a new one…

The dealer has no time line on when the Mach E will be fixed.
I really enjoyed my Mach E, now I am thinking this was a mistake.

It's a very rare issue. Searching the forum and the internet, I only came up with a few cases of failed motors/drive units in total (ignoring front or rear).

It seems like time for you to make more noise and start contacting executives at Ford.

Get the new one! Tell them you need your payment to be the same, and just go with the new one! I had a 2021 Premium with 33k miles and have had the powertrain issue and had that fixed, but I could see the writing on the wall. I upgraded to 2023 GT and so far could not be happier.

Just learned that @Ford Motor Company motor company will not reimburse me for a non Ford rental car. I was told that this policy change was made a few months ago. No one has mentioned that to me on my 3 previous calls to BEV number. Also learned the replacement motor is on back order, delivery date is Nov 3. Time to move on from Ford.
I guess Found On Road Dead still holds true.

Non-Ford as not one of their brands, or a rental not arranged through the dealership?

Contact Ford customer service about the rental. If you are still under warranty, they can make sure you get a rental.
