Hopefully my MME will not get the memo since it has done a few big trios so far and lots of running up and down a mountain.

Hope your MME finds a good home and you find something that works for you.

There is always the ever popular Tesla option. They only catch fire every couple months or so around here. Not too often. When they brick they brick oven so there is no lingering question of proper repair.

All EVs with liquid electrolyte batteries will do this. The promise of solid state batteries has been promoted/pumped for 10+ years now - to solve the flammability issue. I’m thinking we will have fusion powered cars before solid state batteries ever becomes reality :)

Between the panel gaps, and the mowing down child sized mannequins… you can’t count on Tesla either. Best bet, Crocs. Preferably with the high performance heel straps down.
Speaking as a Foot & Ankle specialist; this is really poor advice for long distance traveling. See Hoka, New Balance or Brooks. ???

@Ralf You know models built after May 2022 don't have the janky HVBJB right? Have you considered simply trading up to a newer build?

My Premium ER AWD was built in April 2022, has gotten the recall update and has not had an issue in almost 5,000 miles. Yes, the software/touch screen could be faster and more responsive but it is nothing that that keeps me from enjoying the drive.

But it's your car and your money. I hope you find a replacement that makes you happy and I hope you stick with a BEV.

That you Mr. Musk? Kidding and good luck. I own a gas traveler to quell my issues with long distant travel. Not everyone can do that. Yes, there are issue with every car. Not sure why its your only post. And not sure what is to gain from it.

The insults from peanut gallery here are classless. Live and let live.

I agree with you to a point. If the OP was looking for advice, or help, the insults would be classless. But he came on to a MME forum, filled with (mostly) happy MME owners, to tell us he hates our car and is selling it. It is like poking a bear. I think in this case, some light hearted insults are warranted, and fun!

Nothing screams "virtue" and "saving the planet" quite as well as a billowing toxic electric and chemical fire.

Can agree with light hearted. I saw a couple comments really pushing it. Not sure he said he hated it straight up. But, there is no good reason for him to post. As a lawyer, I am surprised.

I have seen these kinds of posts on other car forums for years. I'm like ok, bye.

Incorrect. I used to own a Bolt and having to park it outside for some time and not charge overnight is partly why I got rid of it and got a MME, and I'm so happy I did. However, 1) the Bolt fires were still extremely rare 2) Chevy got to the bottom of what was causing it and 3) eventually made it right by replacing everyone's battery packs or buying back their vehicle. Along the way there was some foot dragging where they thought they could solve it with software updates. I think there are some lessons for Ford (e.g. HVBJB) in the Bolt ordeal. But I wouldn't be concerned in the least about fires in the new battery packs. There have not been any. And a Bolt with a new battery pack is a great car for a great price.
I was just shopping for a car for my son and the Chevy dealer in Dallas that had a few Bolts. None of them had the replacement batteries yet. New ones coming in did have the new batteries tho.

If you are considering ICE just remember EVERY automaker has recalls.
Just an example of the "highest quality" brand Toyota

15 Listed on the site currently that go back to 2009 for Toyota and Lexus and include 22 MY.

It's a machine and mostly made by a human with thousands of parts and complex computers and systems. We are lucky cars work at all.

Enjoying our Mach E and within the last week, we have received 5 OTAs. 3.1.1, 3.2.1, 3.3.1, 22S41, 22S29. Software train is moving at least on our 22 MY.

Although the Mach e has many fine features, I cannot rely on it to take a trip of several hundred miles to see my relatives. I cannot take the chance of having my car brick. The software update plainly does not adequately resolve this issue. It is untenable that Ford will not properly address this problem. I am going to sell this vehicle and buy something that I can rely on
Ignore the fanboys. The Mach-E is Ford’s first real EV (I’m not counting compliance cars and PHEVs). It’s still a bit rough around the edges, and could use some refinement before it’s ready for the masses. If you’re an EV enthusiast, willing to put up with the current charging network, a hit or miss infotainment system & the risk of having your high voltage battery connector fail, you’re not in the mainstream. These are issues that need to be addressed before the Mach-E is ready for primetime. As an EV enthusiast, I can put up with the Mach-E’s shortfalls, but most people wouldn’t want to deal with these problems.

So weird that so many people are mocking this guy with "smell ya later" type comments when he is 100% right.

We all are okay with being on the bleeding edge of technology and know that it comes with certain risks. The risk he brings up is OBVIOUSLY genuine.

I am driving the Mach-E on a 400-mile round trip from NYC to Saratoga Springs this weekend and made sure to take the time to relearn all of the correct tow points, remember not to park nose in, and other things like that because my 50k+ car has a known issue (wasn't known when I bought it) of turning into expensive paper weight bricks.

I'm not complaining because again, I am okay with being on the cutting edge of these things but would be really cool of Ford to, you know, fix the damn problem.
