Recently, like the last week or so, when I engage with Google Maps via voice to create a trip destination it acts and sounds like it's going to work but it doesn't. I say, "Navigate to the nearest Home Depot", AA responds with "OK, Home Depot, let's go." But nothing happens. No route is created and I'm stuck trying to figure out how to go. I can't manually create the destination on my phone because Google maps won't open on the phone if the phone is engaged with Android Auto. I have to either stop the car and open the door or disengage Android Auto before I can set the destination on the phone.

Anybody have a solution for this?

Update: The latest AA update fixed this problem.

AA is very buggy. They just released 7.8 so it should be available for download soon. Its supposed to fix a lot of bugs

I haven't used Google Maps for awhile on AA. I started using Waze and never looked back.

You should be able to just hit the maps button in the Android Auto app drawer and open the app, then type in a destination if you're not moving right on the cars screen. I've never had any issues with AA or Google Maps and use it daily.
