OK this has happened twice so far and both times it was raining/storming.

Car plugged in and scheduled to start charging at 10pm. Current SOC below 50%. Car starts to charge and gets around 70%ish(most recent was 77% last night). Grizzl-E has a red flashing light and a faint audible beep. Unplug Grizzl-E and remove charge schedule and car charges fine. If you leave it plugged in the schedule will start again at 10pm and complete the charge to 90%.

The Grizzl-E is mounted on an exterior wall with a little shed built over it and it remained dry during both instances so I don't think the EVSE getting wet is the issue. Perhaps the connection in the car getting wet?

Thoughts?

The Grizzl-E is rated to be used outdoors in any weather condition (rain, snow, ice, etc). You don't need a little shed or otherwise something to try and keep the Grizzl-e EVSE dry.
Same for the J1772 connection to the car -- the MME can be out in the rain and charge just fine from an EVSE. The 14-50 outlet however DOES need an outdoor rated box to keep that part covered from elements.

Guessing you have a defective unit, or more likely your power company is fluctuating your supply during the storm in a way that causes the Grizzl-E to fault. (I think red flashing is Grizzl-E telling you there was a fault)

I have charged my Chevy Bolt in monsoon rains at a DC fast charger with no issues. Rain is not a problem.

I have been running a Grizzl-E at my home for almost 2 years. It has seen rain and snow.

That's what I'm thinking.....the power may be fluctuating during the storm. The EVSE and the 14-50 it's plugged into are out of the weather unless it rains sideways.

It's interesting that it also happened when it needed a 30-40%+ charge to get to 90%. I'll keep an eye on things and post up if I find an answer

I’d check the manual for the light and audible buzz combo. It’ll tell you what it means. Mine has been through some heavy rain recently and had no issue.

do you have the smart version that allows you to check the output and amps?

Is it a dedicated circuit? 50A?

No, got the dummy. Didn't come with a manual either. I'll check their website or email them

In my manual it says that means it got an error from the car so it shut off the current.

Yes, dedicated circuit, 50amp breaker with 3 6-2 and a ground. I really don't think it's an issue with the wiring as much as it may be the power fluctuating during the storm. The first time we did lose power for a couple of minutes, the second time I didn't notice it but there's a good chance it browned out at least

Interesting. No fault messages in the car

My car doesn't give an error either unless it is powered on when it happens.

You might want to have your dealer check the car for errors and see if there is an issue that they need to address.
