I don't know; the Tulip wheels are starting to grow on me.
My daughter (15) saw the GT wheels and said "flower wheels -those are awesome!" So they have her seal of approval.

So now we found someone that took off the covers. I don't mean to be a giant bother but maybe put the two together and take a freaking picture with the wheels on the car?

Like is this process really too much to ask to get the full image (especially if the caps don't fit without the covers)?
The first pic the OP posted was of a car with these wheels with no aero covers. There are gaps where the flat covers would be.

Am I the only one that thinks it's weird people buy trims of vehicles based on the wheels? That's like buying a house for its paint color.
Does anyone really do this???

Yeah but that's a computer rendering of what it would look like. Let's see an actual car in real life.

If you ask my wife, yes. She's was like you're going to buy that car with those wheels?

Me and her brother were both like, uhhh you realize you can just sell those and actually buy other wheels right? Like that's the least important thing to be thinking about here.

What’s weird about it? It’s one of the big differences between the trims.

Clearly Ford (and other manufacturers) have this figured out. It’s why they can and do charge so much for wheels.

And, at least for now, there aren’t a ton of aftermarket wheel options for the Mach E.

You apparently would be surprised how much paint color affects the sale of a house. Pink seems to kill the market. I can think of 3 pink houses around here recently. All took years to sell. One finally painted it white…… sold almost immediately.

People like what they like and don’t want a “project.”

Maybe the wheels are nostalgically ugly.

The original Mach 1 wheels were ugly too…… and everyone removed them.

Ford marketing team meeting

Suit1: "How do we entice GT purchasers to buy the Performance Edition?"

Suit2: "How about we put some ugly ass wheels on the GT and some sweet ass ones on the PE!"

There aren’t?
Not that have seen that were made specifically for this car (proper size, weight, backspacing, center caps, design etc). I think there are some, just not a ton yet.

Sure you can technically bolt on anything that’ll fit but that’s not ideal.

Easier to just get the PE if you don’t like the GT wheels. And not many would complain about the mag ride and extra performance, even if it’s not your main reason to upgrade.

I get how much paint affects the sale of a house...but it's equally as silly in my view. You do you

To be fair, I have gotten a deal on a couple houses because other people couldn’t see past the ugly paint.

Paint is easy.

But I would argue that the average driver wouldn’t even know where to start trying to pick out new wheels and tires for a brand new model.

How many “will it fit?” threads do you see in wheel/tire subsections of car forums? And those questions typically come from “car people” doing the research. The average buyer? No clue.

I get your point but the will it fit guys are looking for the perfect look, not just better than factory. If you just want better than factory and don't need a more aggressive offset, width, etc then you can just plug in the mach e to tire rack and see all the wheels that fit.

I guess it just comes down to some people would rather pay more money than do an ounce of work. Which is fine I guess...I just can't really relate. I'm a DIYer. Now, breaks over, gotta get back in the roof and finish my solar system
