Hello,

I have had the GTPE since 3/31/22 and have noticed my max range is only 230 Miles at 100% on a Level 2 home charger. On a DC3 charger, Max charge is 80% with Electrify America....

I thought the GTPE has a normal range of 260 miles fully/100% charged?

The range is an estimate, or guess, which is why its referred to as the Guess-O-Meter on here a lot.

It takes a lot of factors into its estimate, including outside temp, battery temp, and your driving habits. If you drive fast, you'll never see the full range. My GT at 90% charge currently has 194 mile range.

I have never charged to 100%. The highest GOM (guess-o-meter) estimate extrapolated to 100% has been 234 miles. Temperature can affect your estimated range greatly. Shortly after I bought my GT-PE in November, my extrapolated GOM range was in the 190 mile range. ?ā€ā™‚?

Oh, the GOM also looks at driving history and factors your average mi/KWh into its guess. ??

I've done several 1000 mile road trips and have seen 2.6 to 2.8 kw, all freeway driving, at around 75 to 80 mph. In my experience 80% fast charge stops will get you 160 to 200 miles depending on the temperature of where you are at. FYI I do the same trip from Northern to Southern California and back.

I picked up my GT non PE on 3/26. Out the door, the range was ~ 205….but it kept improving every few days as the car presumably learned my driving habits and the weather climbed into the 60’s here in NC. Last week the range was up to 276.

I tried all three drive modes and have had fun hammering th GO pedal. Have been getting about 3.3 m/kWh. Also noticed that when I turn on any accessories (a/c, lane control, etc) that the efficiency takes a hit. Obviously.

I use the 1-pedal exclusively (love it) and it makes a huge difference in regeneration. Love getting the ā€˜100% regen’ flasher when I stop.
My perspective….give it a week or two and see how your efficiency does.

Excellent info my friend

I love the 1 PD driving as well and I do smash it once in a while but normally drive in Whisper and plenty fast so far
I will see what happens as time goes by on how the computer will adjust with my driving habits

Will update once it goes over the 230 range

This is awesome to hear! I just picked up my GT (non PE) about an hour ago (4/19/22 at 8pm EST) and was disappointed when the gauge said 218 miles at 97%. Although a bunch of factors play into the estimated range, I assumed 100% full charge would at least get 250 miles since the estimated range for the GE non PE trim is ~270 miles.

About how long / many miles did you drive before it jumped up to 276 miles? Were you driving in a particular drive mode?

Congrats
Actual Range vs EPA are totally different
I am content with whatever my ride averages out to….
I am thinking give/take 220 ish…

It took about 2 weeks. Ambient temperature plays a big part. Today was in the 50’s and my range was down to 257. EVs like warmer weather and temps.

I mostly drive in Engage mode to/from work. But I do hit Unbridled often. Wimp mode….I mean Whisper doesn’t seem to produce a huge efficiency rating.

The GOM is not as important (to me) as the actual miles/kWh rating. That’s the actual ā€˜proof’.

EVs are also inverse to ICE for efficiency. You get better miles around town than on the highway. Regeneration from the brakes and 1pd. The window sticker also shows this in the EPA ratings.

A lot of it has to do with driving history and temp and climate. On days when it was 60s haven’t had many here in Michigan and still in damn 40s in April. I think last 2 months had about 5 days in the 60s. On my GT non PE we all of sudden we’re getting over 3.0KW/h my range estimate went up to 241 it was the best I saw since early March when we had it.

I think if you got temps in the. 60-70s is the sweet spot. And you don’t drive bad just drive it like normal car and keep it
Below 75 on freeway you should get great range.

I had my GTPE since March. I have 2.5k miles so far, and i've averaged 2.6 KW/h. So if I multiply it by the 91KW battery pack it puts my range at 237 miles. But I only charge to car to 90% daily, so my affective daily range is 213 miles. This is slight more than the displayed range of about 200 when I charge every night.

The GOM (guess-o-meter) must be calculating the "lead foot" syndrome... my understanding is... if you can keep your foot out of it... under 75 mph (not the reason for buying a GTPE)... that some are bringing higher mileage than Ford originally stated. I will never know... I have the "lead foot" problem... probably, better range with 1 pedal mode... guessing, of course
