I talk a lot of smack about Kick to Open (KtO) not working very well on my car. Well, a few weeks ago a neighbor was talking to me about my car and asked if my car had KtO. I told him that it did and said it didn't work for crap. Of course, my car had to shave this Poodle's topknot. I kicked under the license plate just like I've done before and waited for it to fail. Ugh. It worked. ?? It continued to work for 15 consecutive kicks. ?? Since then, I have successfully used KtO without a failure. ??

That being said...KTO has been the feature that has always worked reliably since day one. Go figure...

Maybe the problem was you weren’t kicking your leg, but raising it instead.

Not to be confused with KtC. Kick to Close. With I swear used to work for me. The other day, costco run. 1 trip from the car to bring everything in. Just 1. I loaded up everything in each arm, then KtC and nada. Kick kick kick. Damn. Put down a bunch of stuff, clicked the button walked away. 'Corse walk away lock didn't work either. But I found that out day after that night.

I had an Audi SQ5 that had KTO and the rear deck lid hit me in the butt when my cat walked under the car. My GTPE KTO won't open because Ford took the feature away in 2022 without telling anyone

My kto/ ktc works really well, I use it a lot. Secret I found is don’t unlock the car, have a fob on hand, kick straight to the middle slowly, pull straight back quicker. Also, Ktc gets confused if you opened via FP, center stack, bottom or fob.
