I was sitting in my car while slow charging and had the heat on but it was only cold air coming out. Is this by design?

Just accessory, but the heat worked that way when fast chargingWas the car fully on or just in “Accessory”?
All accessories does is blow through your 12v batteryJust accessory, but the heat worked that way when fast charging
Don't use accessory mode, it will drain the 12V battery most of the time. The high voltage heater is also disabled in accessory mode (unless the battery is heating).Just accessory, but the heat worked that way when fast charging
Ok thanks. Strange, I don't understand why EV's need to differentiate between 12V vs. full battery for this. It makes sense for ICE cars to preserve gas, but you're using electricity in both cases for an EVDon't use accessory mode, it will drain the 12V battery most of the time. So the solution is to just turn the car fully ON and you'll have heat.
Accessory mode is just a holdover from ICE vehicles as Ford EVs share a lot of computer modules with the gas cars.Ok thanks. I’ve maintained that “Accessory” mode is unnecessary ever since I realized it existed on my car. Surprisingly, somebody on here wanted to debate me on it!Ok thanks. +1 always forget to turn the car off when leaving and honks at me. Why honk. That's another discussion for another day.I’ve maintained that “Accessory” mode is unnecessary ever since I realized it existed on my car. Surprisingly, somebody on here wanted to debate me on it!![]()
The heater does not run on 12V, it would have to be pulling over 400A. The heater runs off the high voltage battery. Only the fan motor is running on 12V.The 12v battery is 35AH and the high voltage is about a 100000AH battery. Heater is 5000 to 7500 watts and would drain the 12v battery in a matter of minutes.
