We got a $100 rebate (which was applied to the order), yes. It was for "2021 Assist Special Package Bonus Customer Cash".
Then you either signed the paper (and they didn‘t give you a copy) or your dealer didn’t follow Ford’s instructions.

I have copies of every piece of paper we signed, and there was none like you described presented.

they could easily create a Blue Cruise customer sat program and also include it.

Given the number of modules 21P22 touches its probably a longer job for that then installing Blue Cruise.
They have already said they are going to. Mike Levine said it would be available as a dealer update before the OTA in Q1. I assume they were trying to avoid this, but finally gave in.

As for the time, no one knows how long it would take and how many modules would need to be updated. We can assume the image processing module would be one of them, and people on here have said that’s a 4+ hour update just for that module. So that already is twice what the entire CSP update is quoted as. Just guessing though.

His discussions are not advertising.

You can read the car's window sticker before purchase. If it says "BlueCruise", then it's on the vehicle, and not free, because the vehicle was $600 more. If it doesn't say "BlueCruise", then it wasn't on the vehicle.
I specifically asked him how much it would cost when it launched. He said it would be free. That was a big push he made when selling it. I didn't sign a paper saying anything about BlueCruise either.

Yes, what the salesman said was wrong, and you could possibly push for a discount on the car based on that.

However, I think what Rick was saying is that it doesn’t qualify as “false advertising.”

Even with actual advertising (signs, commercials, ads etc) stating something incorrect doesn’t count if it’s a typo.

For something to be false advertising you have to prove they intentionally mislead people.

I remember years ago our local Ford dealer ran a full page ad in the paper. Every new car was listed for $12,995, including vehicles that should have been $50-70k.

It was a complete mistake by the ad agency who built the ad. Whoever uploaded it didn’t finish updating the prices and put the Focus price on everything.

They got more phone calls that day than ever before, but no, no one got a $50k car for $12,995.

Has anyone received any communication directly from Ford on why BlueCruise (BC) did not come when promised in Q321 (and let's not parse whether it was "promised" or just "projected".) All I have heard thus far was the CEO on an earnings call telling analysts that BC was delayed until Q122, and an article on a website saying that Mike Levine confirmed to a reporter a delayed Q122 release of BC and the potential to have it dealer installed. It would be nice to hear from the manufacturer that there is a delay, this is what caused it, and this is why we now project it will come early in 2022. Is it a hardware problem? Did Ford know how to send BC via OTA in the first place or was that a promise based upon something they didn't know how to do? Who knows? If it would take four+ hours to install at a dealership, how long will it take on my home wifi? I love my truck and support Ford and believe that once they get their OTA game on point the software will get closer to being a fit with their awesome hardware.

Yes. Ford informed all of us that it “retimed the BlueCruise over-the-air update so we can deliver the highest-quality experience possible for customers.” What’s not clear about that? Don’t you want the highest-quality experience possible? BC hasn’t been delayed - just retimed! It will be ready when it is ready, because software (and OTA updating) is hard.

Now, in all seriousness, BC is going to be active on subsequently built Mach Es for the better part of a year before we “early adopters” receive it. @Ford Motor Company ought to just release it to us for free at this point. We’re talking maybe 10,000 early adopters in the US impacted by this? That would be the right thing to do.

Part of the 21P22 update mentions it will also update "ability for over the air updates". This makes me wonder if 21P22 has patches for the OTA process that might have been the reason it has been rough getting updates (such as 1.7.1).

This makes me wonder if the delay isn't so much about BlueCruise itself ... but improvements to the OTA update process to make it easier to deploy BlueCruise.

Bingo! B-I-N-G-O!

I believe that totally, which is why I'm getting the update done this week, and pushing for my GSM to also get updated, which then puts every module I have totally updated.

Your post is exactly what should be done. Ford's communication strategy to Mach-E owners is a joke. To tell the investing public, but not the car owners, what the hell is going on is basically an insult. I can see people being PO'd about it.
