I don’t think so. I just did this with a GT and the local dealer here popped up with an “Available in August” result.
That's what I got for my local dealers when I built a GT Bronze Edition.

The dealership I got my car from is across from where I grocery shop. I pass by it regularly. They've got a large area taped off with signage about electrical work. Chargers maybe?

I see how it works now. I had thought our local dealer was going to continue but now found out they opted out. Nearest Ford dealer is 300 miles away. Guess I will ride out my Options contract and turn in my GT. Next EV probably won’t be a Ford. Something may change in two years but I am not sure I am comfortable with having the nearest dealer that can service my car being 300 miles away.

I'm reluctantly coming to a similar conclusion. While the on-island dealer is an EV dealer they are still refusing to do NHTSA safety recalls on a car they sold despite complaints being filed with the NHTSA and with Ford Coprate. It's just not worth it any longer.

Is this a good sign? My dealer happens to be listed (okay for me), but there are zero other EV dealers in a 500 mile radius. Previously pretty much every dealer had Ford EVs. I'm not sure what to think of this.

Whoa, there has to be more to this. See if you can find out who the district rep is. A cool headed talk may grease the wheels a bit.

My GT has had zero issues and the only visit was for the recall and checkup. So what I will have to wrestle with is can I live with the nearest dealer being 300 miles away? Started looking into other EV sales locally and it is a desert! I know there are some and I have plenty of time. May end up with a hybrid but a lot can happen in two years.

I understand completely. I’m not happy about this at all. This has been the best car I’ve ever owned but the dealer is bad. It’s sort of depressing in a way.

I went to build and price and didn’t get a listing of dealers within 100 miles. It did show me available in August. Being this is the Bay Area, I find it hard to believe that we don’t have a single Model E dealer within 100 miles. ?‍♂?

My wife worked at the local dealer for 36 years. They were always good but just could not justify the EV investment. There are two DCFC chargers in Fairbanks withs a usage rate of 2%. Why in the world should Ford require a small dealer to invest when something is not needed. We are getting 9 more this summer with NEVI funds. Water under the bridge at this point.

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised to see 5 dealerships ostensibly closer to my home than the one I actually got my car from, including one only half an hour away (I live in rural central Maine so everything is at least 20-30 minutes away). No surprise the closest one opted out, but it is reassuring to have options, even though I will stick with my further away dealership as they're definitely EV friendly both for regular drivers and businesses.

It sucks that some parts of this country are far more resistant to the EV transition that to me seems clear to be coming, sooner or later. It would be nice if dealerships in areas that really don't have demand for DCFC could opt for something like FreeWire or a similar battery based DCFC, just enough for testing and the rare need for fast charge without the same electric upgrade burden as a normal DCFC. For places like Hawaii and Alaska, that might allow dealerships who otherwise want to sell EVs, but can't afford or justify a big DCFC another option.

Well, technically the DCFC requirement for EV dealers was dropped by Ford corporate. With that said the situation in Fairbanks is different than here. EV sales are booming here. Year over year new EV registrations for March were up by 30% (That accounts for the high volume of cars bought new out of state and shipped in). There are more than 2000 BEVs on this island alone, and tests with the very poor public charging infrastructure.

The issue with the Ford dealer here is the lower profit margin and lack of maintenance on EVs. The refusal to do any safety recalls is actionable in a court but they’re counting on people not being willing to go that route. I have the resources to peruse that if I want, it it’s a fool’s errand.m though imo.

They can’t hide behind the “We didn’t sell that car” excuse either because they did. What angers me more is the dead silence from the Ford Motor Company. At least the NHTSA took my information when I finally filed an official complaint. Ford’s hypocrisy knows no limits.

I may go back to a gas vehicle or I might consider a Kia EV next year, but frankly nothing other than the MME really appeals to me. Too bad the dealer kills sales out here — no one, ice or BEV likes dealing with them.

There isn't an official list published yet, but we can use the Build and Buy website to find participating dealers. Only Model e Certified dealers can sell 2024 model year EVs.

  1. First, head to: https://www.ford.com/finder/2024/mach-e/
  2. Next, choose a configuration. Choose a popular one like GT. Click "Choose your options".
    Screenshot 2024-04-24 at 12.43.41 AM.png
  3. Click on you ZIP code and edit if it's not correct. Also set your search radius. Then click "View matches".
    Screenshot 2024-04-24 at 12.45.14 AM.png

  4. On the match page, click the "Sort and Filter" button.
    Screenshot 2024-04-24 at 12.47.40 AM.png
  5. The list that appears are the closest Model e Certified dealers to you. Click the "More Dealers" link to show more results, if available. If there aren't very many listed, you might have to expand your search radius.

  6. That's it, you've found the Ford Model e Certified dealers near you.
Or just try and schedule service. If they are not certified they will inform you that they cannot service your MME.

Another question may be, are non-Model E dealers with an EV mechanic permitted to Service EVs and be reimbursed by Ford on warranty work? Seems likely the answer is YES.

They can choose to provide Service to EVs or not, and to customers who bought an EV from them or all or not. And this choice may change over time.

The dealer I recently bought a new GT from is not certified. I did already buy extended warranty from them. Can I use this warranty to get service at the other dealer that is close by which IS model-e certified?
