I’ve had my 2022 Premium ER rwd since early August and, fortunately, have had no big issues at all. I have always felt very fortunate that only minor annoyances (paak, slow screen, slow door button response) have popped up from time to time. But it seems my good fortune ran out three weeks ago and it persists.

Toward the beginning of a Texas heat wave, my AC started blowing warm air, and then, started blowing hot air. I never wanted ventilated seats so bad. I won’t bore you all with how long it took to get it into the shop or how I had to negotiate with the BEV Team to agree to reimburse me for a rental car because most of you know all that jazz. However, I thought I’d throw out this thread as an FYI in case anyone else has this issue down the road.

Unfortunately, it’s still in the shop and they still haven’t pinpointed the exact cause. The compressor failed so they replaced it and a couple other parts. The new one immediately started to fail as well and they’ve been chasing that white rabbit ever since. As of today, they have ordered yet another compressor and some other parts. Really glad I’m not paying for all that. I asked the Service Advisor if they have at least figured out what caused it all and he replied, over text, “It looks like it was multiple system failures between the compressor, stuck valves, and computer system.”

I’ll update this post if I ever get a clear answer as to what is going on, but I do hope for everyone’s sake, this is just my bad luck and an isolated incident. The guy with the BEV Team said this is the first AC issue he has heard of with the Mach E and Lightning. This is also the first HVAC issue I’ve had with all the Fords I’ve had over the years.

I sure am tired of driving around this Corolla… ?

***UPDATE***
The finished with my car late this afternoon so she’s now home where she belongs. Very happy to have her back. They aren’t 100% what started the trouble, but they suspect it was a computer issue/glitch that was telling some valves to close when they should have been opened. Supposedly this caused the compressor and other parts to fail because of over working or something. Sooo glad I didn’t have to pay for any of the repairs myself. The total was just under $2500. They said every part of the AC is now new so hopefully this will never happen again.

**Additional Update**
Aftet half a day with the AC working perfectly, it’s now on the fritz. It’s going hot to cold to hot to cold all on it’s own. I’ve gotta take it back to the service department on Monday. Dammit.

*update July 18*
Ford Engineers have instructed the service department at the dealership to replace the entire hvac system. Leads me to believe they still don’t know exactly what the issue is. And the waiting continues…

*Update Aug 9*
Finally got my MME back today. I was so happy to see her. The last rental k got was a Chevy. ? They never did figure out what caused the problem, but replacing the entire system seems to have fixed it. If you’re wondering, the first round of repairs were roughing $2500 and this one came out to about $3500. Thank goodness for Warranty. I’m still VERY discounted in the way FoMoCo handles these situations.

Thanks for reporting your experience. What a nightmare. I hope your Corolla has AC.
I've been worried about the effect of our extreme temperatures (Williamson County here). We can stay home in the AC, but the garage gets the afternoon sun so the poor car is very hot all the time.

Yep, never heard of a MME with HVAC failure. I have a feeling we will see all sorts of new issues due to production ramp.

Got my car back today! Nearly 2 months of it being in the shop. I’ve posted some updates above of anyone is interested. I hope none of you end up with this same issue.
