I followed Mach-Lee's HVB step-by-step recalibration process with my results in red below. Not sure what it all means but it was interesting.

1. Charge the vehicle to normal level (e.g. 90%). Charged to 90%

2. Drive the vehicle (without charging) until the battery is down to 5% or less. Drove until HVB was at 4% w/ 15 mi range.

3. Park the vehicle and let the battery rest for at least 5 hours (preferably overnight). Let vehicle rest overnight.

4. Level 2 charge all the way to 100% in one session without interruption. Started level 2 charge @ 0530h on April 13. Battery reached 100% (297 mi range) @ 1440h.

5. Leave the vehicle plugged in and let the battery rest for 3+ hours after 100% is reached. Done

6. (Optional) With a scan tool, read the kWh to empty and state of health parameters. HVB parameters: 31.08 mo; 93.5 SoH (was 94 two weeks prior); 87 kWh to empty.

7. Drive without charging until battery is below 50% (10% recommended). Drove until HVB was at 28% w/ 79 mi range.

8. Charge the vehicle back up to your normal level. Level 2 charged to 90% on April 29 which produced 260 mi range. HVB parameters: 31.16 mo; 94.5 SoH; 78.32 kWH to empty.

9. Repeat if desired.

Interesting. Out of curiosity, how many miles do you have on the car, and how often do you do DCFC charging?

It has about 17K miles. I rarely DCFC - maybe half a dozen times during one road trip. The 1-point bump in the HVB SoH was a pleasant surprise.

I have 22K on my 2022 - now I'm curious as to its SOH. Gotta go fire up the OBD-II dongle and give Car Scanner a whirl...

Posts like yours make me feel better about our FE with 52k sitting at 93.5 SoH.

When we purchased our Mach-E FE back in 02/21 we took the options plan so we could get rid of it easily if we didn't care for the car. For the first 2 years I didn't do anything with battery longevity in mind. Charged to 100% then let it go down to 10%... rinse and repeat. We also did a lot of DCFC charging. It wasn't until around year 3 that I set the daily charge to 80% and put the car on a charger more often.

We ended up buying the car a few months ago as my wife wanted to keep it. She mostly drives my car these days but we still take the Mach-E down to LA where it blends in with the other cars and doesn't attract the wrong kind of attention (break-in... crazy Tesla haters... LAPD high-speed chases that cause the perp to crash in to our parked car... etc...)

Stangy has DCFC charged 331 times taking on board 9,708.24kWh and HVB SoH is 93.5%

Looks like everyone is reporting SOH of 93.5. Wonder how accurate that is.

I have ‘21 with 30k miles on it. Original owner. My SOH has shown 91% since i bought my obd dongle Oct 2023. I charger to 90%, dont ever let it get below 50% or so except on roadtrips that i take 2-3 times a year. I haven’t tried to do the reset thing yet but plan to sometime, i work from home so its hard to let it get down below 10% as it would take a long time.

Sounds like you've had a great experience with the car. I hope it's same for me.
