If repairable remove the tire from the rim and patch the inside as well as plug the hole.

The problem there is you cannot both plug and patch. The plug would be the temporary fix. Once the tire comes off of the wheel, the plug is removed and a patch put in its place. 🤔🐩

I guess if you know a tire shop that’s willing to spend the time to do that, good on you. They won’t do that around here. 😊🐩

I think maybe we've wandered beyond the available tools and skills of the OP here.....

I just had a set of tires installed on Kia EV6 today and the service writer gave some interesting information.

Discount Tire / America’s Tire will fix a flat for free - they want your future business.

Sealants are fine if you bring the tire in very soon. The “goo” is easy to clean if it hasn’t “aged”. It is the old “goo” that ruins the sensors.

The proper patch is from the inside. The patch is a round, flat seal with plug in the center that fills the hole from the inside.

Factual. I didn't even understand what I was reading there.

Well there was a giant nail in the tire. Ford Roadside towed it on the flatbed (under my strict supervision and the handy tow guide). According to Ford the nail was too close to whatever to be able to repair. Took them the rest of the week to get the new tire in and installed. Had my rotation done at the same time, so all's well that ends well.

I appreciate the advice you all provided, even though I didn't understand any of it. :)
