I ordered a GT (non-PE) and this pricing discrepancy was the main reason I did not order the PE. I did find $5k for Mangeride slightly excessive when compared to Ford's ICE Magneride upgrade pricing. It will be interesting to see if the secondary market can provide this for closer to $2500
You cannot add magneride aftermarket for $2500.

In fact an aftermarket magneride suspension doesn’t exist for any car that I know of at the moment. For a short while there was a company selling something similar for $7500 just for parts but they no longer exist.

For me the $5k seemed pretty reasonable for better wheels/tires, more power, better brakes, magneride and better seats (arguable).

You’d spend a fortune aftermarket trying to do all of the above.

The only Ford Performance I am familiar with is the ICE 2003 Mercury Marauder, so the Magneride aftermarket is regurgitated from a Mach E facebook page.
Good to know aftermarket Magneride is not available, because that's how I was justifying my non-PE purchase...now I must live with that regret.

I'll be a stickler meeseeks and argue that you could install a custom set of coilovers tailored to the Mach E geometry, upgrade to better brake pads (MAYBE SS lines as well), and then fit an aftermarket set of wheels and tires (or source an OEM set of GT(PE) wheels from the forums) and be way ahead of the cost difference, while achieving most of the same specs. Of course, none of this gets you the power output of the GT.

Yes. Mash the throttle and you'll immediately appreciate your choice.
For about 5 Seconds, if I’m reading the reviews right. Not exactly a Plaid.

I do like the suspension upgrade And better tires.

”Better Looking? undoubtedly to some, not to others. The axiom in the car business holds: “There’s an ass for every seat”?

Yup and 5 seconds full throttle driving daily on the street is more than enough to put a big ass smile on your face. At the track yeah you'll be disappointed. Driving every single day....all smiles.

Go with the GT! I also ordered a Premium, took it for a test drive and it was great. But, I decided to wait for the GT. I now own the GT Cyber Orange and I'm 100% happy with my decision. The interior is incredible, the performance is great and the style is better.

I am still waiting to hear back from the dealer. The GT is on lot with a 10 K ADM and I was trying to see if they would release it in exchange for putting the ADM on my order when it comes in for them to keep. In the meantime, I appreciate all the comments. It is amazing how fast the comments came. I am leaning towards waiting for the premium. The GT is tempting, but I cannot get past how ugly the wheels are

To be honest, I ordered this car back in May and I am scheduled for build during the last ‘21 week in November. Since then I have seen them on the road but they look so much smaller to me than I thought. I am in a pickup now and parting with it will be difficult. Just hoping I am not going to regret the change.

Point taken. I love when I am gaining on a car in my lane and want to go left into the fast lane to go around, and the car behind me in the fast lane sees what’s happening and steps on it to “close the door” (common California traffic tactic) to cut me off. Before his ICE car can figure out what he wants it to do, I tap the throttle and have gone around him.
Still, if blinding performance is the goal, even though MME’s are quick, they will loose most races after 65 MPH.

You could, and you still wouldn’t have the comfort and flexibility of Magneride, nor the larger brakes of the PE. The seats I say flip a coin because some like one vs the other.

You might be able to pull off the nice wheels and tires, if you profit from selling the stock set. And unfortunately your resale would actually be worse with the modifications vs keeping the GT stock.

Then like you said, you’re still missing the extra torque.

$5k doesn’t really seem like a lot of a difference to work with on a $65-70k car.

I can tell you now from personal experience,

With this kind of acceleration, 5 seconds is a long time.

How often do you go from 0-80 mph and then still floor it past that? For me it’s the couple times in the life of owning a car I take it to the drag strip.

And no, it’s no plaid. I definitely don’t have a place I can hit 150 in 9 seconds.

Brought the GTPE home yesterday and my neck is sore today from taking a few people on rides.

I keep forgetting to put my head against the headrest before flooring it.

Not sure if you've ever had a set of custom-valved coilovers produced for your wants and needs, but you can get a decent right with outstanding performance for a decent price.

And another agreement is the addition of aftermarket modifications will hurt resale value to a dealer and private party who only wants a stock vehicle.

Oh you can usually get the aftermarket performance cheaper than the factory.

But it won’t ride like magnaride. This is my second car with it and I’m definitely a believer.

If I could have had a GTPE for the price I paid for my Premium ER 2WD plus 5 large, I would have bought one too.
