Is the GT a worthwhile upgrade if not the PE?
According to @OutofSpecKyle it's sort of not worth it unless going for the PE. The regular GT does not have Magneride suspension. It's basically just faster than the Premium, and that's about it. The Premium is very fast off the line, at least when talking about stop light punches. The GT will be fun to drive, no doubt, but if you're serious about track driving, etc, then the GT PE is what you want.

Edit: Kyle's video, here's the portion where he is driving the GT and compares it to the Performance Edition:

Some comparisons…thumb through the different options, and I believe the difference is closer to $9,000 If you add the few things thePremium has.

I believe you have to pay extra for the sun roof and blue cruise with the GT.?surprised me! They were included in the Premium.

If I could snap my fingers and have a GT over my premium, for a mere $5-$6K more, I would do it in a heartbeat. That said, if you want to swap after getting your GT, I am game ;-)

As there are no back pockets in the GTPE seats not sure what you will want to be reaching around them for lol. The seats may look sporty but they really are not, one of my friends would always grumble when getting in front Recaro seats in my Focus ST / RS as they are not built for a wider frame, had zero complaints with the GTPE as they really are not that heavily bolstered at all, again this will be based on your body shape by the Recaros in my focus ST hold me in nice and tight, in the GTPE I can move about easily there is no comparison in bolstering, I find the GTPE seats very comfy.

The heavy weight of BEVs means that IMO a form of adaptive suspension is a must if you have to travel over roads that are a very mixed bag when it comes to surface quality as a fixed set up is always going end up being a compromise when dealing with near 5000lbs. So the magneride really helps in this regard and is worthwhile upgrade however at present this upgrade comes in at a significant $$$ cost, so you are really going to want it, as unless Ford can fix the top end power issues you are simply not getting the appropriate level of performance to justify the cost increase of the performance edition .
If Ford offered Magneride as a standalone option on the Premiums for even say $2,500 or so, my wallet would be substantially lighter. Previous ICE Mustangs have had it as a $1,695 standalone as recently as a couple of years ago on the Ecoboost Mustangs (i.e. the non-GT ICE Mustang).

Get the GT.

Signed,
Someone who's getting the Premium because the GT is out of my budget.

Looking at the specs, a couple details that I haven't seen mentioned in this thread - the GT rides a little lower and does not include a cargo area cover.

Edit: A few people commented that their GT included the Cargo Area Cover. So, I started an online order process for a GT, saw no option to add the Cargo Area Cover, but at the point of "Place Order" the list of features included the Cargo Area Cover (both for PE and normal GT). So apparently the specs are not accurate!
In our Premium I removed the frunk divider and Cargo Area Cover. These are not really necessary. My cargo area usually has nothing needing covering.

When I ordered my Premium AWD ER MME, the GT wasn’t yet available. Also, It was for my 65 year old wife. She wanted the Infinite Blue Premium MME.

Also, not sure if mentioned but one of the appeals of the GT (outside of the performance) is that the wheel arches are the color of the car. Somethjng tells me the Premium (not FE) gloss black wheel arches are not going to last long as far as wear and tear. I'd much rather them be the color of the car. The front "grill" of the GT also looks better than the Premium (to me).

The Cargo Cover is eep on both models. Keep in mind the Fed Tex credit is not avail on GT models. There is a MSRP cut off around $59K. Not sure of the exact amount.

What are you talking about? Unless those new bills pass which is NO guarantee, there is no max MSRP amount for the federal $7500 tax credit.

So the rebate date was to be (originally) active September 1, 2021, but it looks like the final bill verbiage details this rebate being available starting January 1, 2022. Sorry for getting your hopes up.
Plus, while the bill passed, the funding for it has not. Total Lucy with the football move by the VA legislature.

The Federal Tax Credit is available on both GT models.
The current tax CREDITS apply to all Mustang Mach E vehicles, where you must have enough tax liability after deductions to qualify for the credit.

The new proposed bills (there are two; one by the House, and one by Senate), will migrate to a REBATE that can be used at point of sale. Both do have more limitations such as MSRP caps and income caps. Both have NOT been approved and ARE NOT active.

Maximize the current tax credits (EV and EVSE) while you can.

I ordered a GT (non-PE) and this pricing discrepancy was the main reason I did not order the PE. I did find $5k for Mangeride slightly excessive when compared to Ford's ICE Magneride upgrade pricing. It will be interesting to see if the secondary market can provide this for closer to $2500

If I could get the GT with the light space grey interior. That would be tempting.

I like the front end of the GT better, but not more than the fact that the GT only has a dark interior.
I like the light space grey intertior as well. So I had no option but to get Premium
