I have a VIN for a pending build on a premium AWD ER but might have an opportunity to buy a GT non-PE with glass roof and camera/tech package. What are your thoughts the on the plus/minus of GT vs Premium.

GT: All plus except more expensive
Premium: Cheaper. You might be able to eek out a hair more range.

What is your thought on the seats/materials? Will the suedes seats hold up? Are they the same comfort?

Not sure...the material held up fine in my STIs I had with the same material design. Definitely not going to give up all the GT brings to the table over the seat material....IMO.

They are incredibly comfortable. Perfect balance of grip and comfort.

Well it sounds like you can get the GT sooner so that's a plus. I went through the pluses and minuses myself and went for the GT. I like the admittingly minor body differences but the GT just looks nicer and I wanted to get the top model for this first year (I went for the GTPE). If you don't mind spending the money I would say go for the GT.

Is the GT a worthwhile upgrade if not the PE?

I had to make this decision (for ordering, not grabbing), and ultimately, I decided I would splurge on the GT non-PE over the Premium, because I wanted the additional power and better handling (from the tuning and the wider wheels). There are some additional cool things for the GT (light-up front badge!), and while I'm currently planning to go for a 3-year Ford Options, I figured that, if I did end up purchasing and later wanted to resell, the GT would have a higher residual value for resale. Finally, I'm getting the Mach-E as my first-ever driver's car (I've owned Tauruses, economy cars and minivans up until now), and for the modest monthly increase in payments, I wanted to go for the more engaging (unbridled?) experience of the quicker acceleration and tuning enhancements. (I do not, though, plan to take my car to a track, live where we get snow, and am not thin, so the additional costs and compromises of the GT Performance Edition were steps too far for my particular needs.)

Bottom line: they are almost identical vehicles. If you have the resources and want to splurge on yourself, go for the GT. If you don't have them, or don't feel like splurging, you'll almost certainly be very happy with the Premium. Good choices are good things to have. {Jonathan}

I thought so. The PE has Magneride, true, but it also has summer tires, narrower seats, and costs $5,000 more for only slightly more torque than the regular GT. I wanted the first, but didn't want or need the rest. {Jonathan}

I think the GT alone is a nice upgrade. I like the interior better than the PE. I like that copper stitching and seat look nicer IMO. You take a hit in range but I think you will enjoy driving the GT more unless you don't care about the increased performance and if that's the case then stick with the Premium. You are getting a really nice car in either case.

Officially, anyway, the GT gets exactly the same 270 mile EPA range as does the Premium ER AWD. The GT PE loses 10 miles in the EPA ratings, to 260. {Jonathan}

We very much wanted a GT(PE), but went the premium route because in both VA and DE (where we have 2 residences), you can get a $2500 CASH REBATE (not a tax credit) for an plug-in electric vehicle where the purchase price (vehicle price + any extras such as accessories or warranties; excludes taxes, reg fees, and dealer fees) is under $60,000.

I have a Focus RS with similar material for the seats and its held up very well - also very easy to clean (was surprised there). I would have preferred a leather sport bucket, thought.

Also the benefit for the GT(PE) for me was the enhanced exterior styling of the bumper and body color matched fender flares. Going the premium route though, I'll pay out of pocket to have the fender flares to match and maybe get a vinyl decal to copy the look of the GT(PE) grill.

EDIT #1: More Info
I also wanted to add that we're only interested in RWD to maximize efficiency. Was considering the AWD route for better "thrill", but we're also getting a Rivian so I'll let that be our "fun" car.

We also don't leave anything alone, with regards to aftermarket modifications, and while I loved the wheel choices for GT(PE), we'd go with something aftermarket to get a wider stance, and also a lighter setup to help offset the sacrifice in range when opting for a wider wheel/tire combo.

A premium trim gets you essentially all the tech, with pano roof (more headroom) and the best range per drive configuration, with a decent cost savings.

Looking at the specs, a couple details that I haven't seen mentioned in this thread - the GT rides a little lower and does not include a cargo area cover.

Ford Mustang Mach-E I need immediate help. Premium vs GT 1634849956948

Edit: A few people commented that their GT included the Cargo Area Cover. So, I started an online order process for a GT, saw no option to add the Cargo Area Cover, but at the point of "Place Order" the list of features included the Cargo Area Cover (both for PE and normal GT). So apparently the specs are not accurate!
