No, that's a completely different issue.I’ve experienced this myself but only in situations with hills (or even the slightest incline). I don’t think the car is really going in reverse though. It’s just that when you put your foot on the accelerator pedal it goes into a “releasing the clutch” state where potentially gravity is still overpowering the forward torque you are applying to the accelerator.
What we're talking about here is the car rolling uphill, when the gear indicator shows the car is set to drive (or reverse) downhill. Gravity obviously will not overpower the car to pull it up the hill.
The situation you are describing is perfectly normal for any kind of car.
