How long would you estimate the power would last sitting with just the heat running? The snafu on I95 in Virginia where some cars were stranded for 24+ hours got me wondering if the outcome of an EV would be any different. Obviously going into the situation with a full charge or tank of gas would be preferable either way.

Several posts on this. 40+ hours. Depends on temp you set it on, fan speed, temperature, battery state of charge.

I would bet that the MME cabin heat would outlast an ICE tank of gas, and at no risk of CO poisoning yourself.

If you had seat heater on (about 100watts per seat), the cabin e-heat would not be working very hard unless it was super cold outside. Assume an average of 1kw for e-heat. If you have a partial charge, lets say 50kWhr remaining..... you could sit and be toasty warm for probably 2 days straight.
