Improper jacking by Discount Tire

Go through your own insurance, they will subrogate the claim. That is what you pay a premium for. Your Insurance will get you squared away and go after Discount Tire for reimbursement. It is a comprehensive claim. Let your insurance company lawyers do their job.

This is a very important topic and I want to confirm everything. I have purchased the "LIFT HERE" stickers and the Corvette pucks. I placed the stickers between the arrows pointing toward the lift point hole. Is that correct? And many on the forum have placed the corvette pucks permanently, yet these links say do not leave them on permanently. Please confirm I have the right information and placement. Thanx, y'all.

I put on a set of the corvette pucks as well, they show up even when the car is dirty. I see no harm in leaving them on permanently.

Have you had to remove them for any reason. I had them on and then took them off. Someone had mentioned they may need to be removed if the battery had to be dropped. Someone also mentioned possible corrosion.

haven’t had time to put them back on. Assume any tire shop will not have an issue with them on

My, my! Does the likes of Discount Tyres and places like that, not have those car lifts (not sure what they are called exactly)?

That would solve the issue, no? Obviously, they'd still need to place the lift in the correct lifting points...

Took my Mach E to the North Seattle Discount Tire for a tire rotation, advised them to be careful when lifting the car. They assured me that they lift EVs all the time. The next day I noticed that the front passenger door crashed into the fender when opened. I took a closer look and discovered that Discount Tire had jacked the car up using the plastic rocker panel under the fender instead of the proper jack point. This bent the fender, rocker panel, and possibly the door as well. Though Discount Tire failed to disclose damaging my car, they were willing to submit a claim to their insurance company when I returned to the store.

Discount Tire uses “Fleet Response” to handle their claims. It’s very difficult to get any help from them. I have multiple preliminary estimates from body shops to repair the car, but I can’t get approval from their insurance.

Discount tire sucks. They literally removed weights off our tire, didn’t balance them and we had to make an emergency stop to Walmart tire (hate them too, just no one else was open) because our tire felt like it was going to fly off.

Despite telling the manager who checked me in rotate AND balance, they didn't hear the balance part, but I caught that also.

Tires were 8/32nds, so only 1/32nd wear in 10,000 miles. Love Michelins!

Hi community- I am reviving this old thread as I too have recently been victim of an improper jacking and while the manager initially claimed, "I see what happened" has now denied responsibility to Fleet Response. I am in disbelief. The damage to my truck is not insignificant and there has been radio silence on the claim. Kind request to @Discount Tire here to see if I can get some help from someone who is willing to do the right thing and review the requested statement and evidence I have passed along. My wife and I have 6 cars that we take to DT so it feels crappy to just get turned away after all the years of patronage and loyalty. And it is not the first time I have had a disagreement with this manager. Please please reach out if anyone has a contact I could bother with this. Thanks, Hive!
