Charging in my garage with chargepoint charger connected to a 50 amp breaker gets very loud as well. I wasn't expecting this before I bought the car. Not sure if other EVS are the same since this is my first.

Maybe we can get some whisper fans from NewEgg
I would think they could design something quieter.
Perhaps that's what whisper mode is for, not just driving. Mines been getting noisier too. Bet we'd be happier if it charges faster.

We charge on a 32 amp charger. The car's cooling fans do come on from time to time and make some noise, but nothing like that in the video. Most of the time there is just a slight hum and you cannot even hear the fans.
So here in the Netherlans, 3 phase is 3 x 16 Ampere and you can charge 11 Kw. Given I have standard battery, it would take me 7 to fully charge. (75 Kwh) So I believe that's not fast at all.
This morning, I've re-engaged charging. After about 10 minutes it started to make the noise again, although it cooled all the way down for 7 hours at an external temp of 15C/59F. So cant be hot right? Its really annoying me badly. The neighbours as well. Havent ever heard a Tesla Nissan or any other electric car make this much noise...

No, not all EVs are like this. My 2014 Leaf stays completely silent during charge.

My Mach-E is making lots of noise while L2 charging on a 40A JuiceBox charger. I just haven’t reported this since I have much more annoying instrument cluster noise problem :(

So given the instrument cluster noise, charging noise, backup beeper and external propulsion sound, they did it! They finally managed to make a loud EV!

My car sounds the same as in your video, maybe even louder, when I'm charging at 11 kW.

I slowed down the charge rate (via EVSE settings) to 30A and it is significantly quieter.
Is EVSE an incar setting?
Might try that

No, it is a setting on your wallbox. Some of them don't have any settings though. You'll need to find out if your wallbox has an app or maybe dip switches or dials behind the panel. (Check its user manual.)

Ah ok well thats too technical for me and it feels as a workaround for something that should not be there. Planned a visit to the dealer. Hope they can fix this without a hassle and quickly because I planned a holiday with it to France

11kW is quite fast and pumps a lot of heat into the battery.
Nissan has a much smaller (slower) charger and the only cooling method it has is some airflow over the cells. Pretty hard to make noise when there isn't a radiator fan, pumps or chiller.

Agreed. But I want to charge this car mostly at home because of my solar panels. This is not possible like this. You can clearly hear it in our whole house, its super loud really

I don't think it has anything to do with the power. The 3-phase power source results in 380v RMS, so at 15A the power delivered is about 6kW. But even on a 150kW charger my car doesn't produce anything I would call loud or annoying.
Probably there is some defect and it's better to take the car to the dealer to fix the problem.

Mine was damn loud.

I ordered a MY tesla until Elon decided to scrap radar, so I got a Mach-E overnight.

Use a Tesla Tap with my Tesla Wall charger and it'll charge the thing in 3-4 hours, but it sounds like a small to medium data center in terms of cooling

Had two people ask about it, told them unless it starts beeping or smoking, it's likely normal.

Level 2 on a Tesla Charger gives the same cooling that I get at a 50kW DC quick charger.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Insane charging noise lol-tesla

How much noise is normal? I will be parking the car next to my house, and my neighbors living room is just a few meters away. Should I be worried?
