This is the absolute coolest stuff! I am so tempted, especially when my 3 years of bluecruise runs out (probably sooner, like this week :)). What I am most scared of is break-ins/theft. Does the comma 3x unit pop off of the mount easily so you can take it with you?

The stock mount is a pain in the butt to remove the device from, but I designed a 3D printable dock. If you don't have access to a 3D printer I can build a dock for you.

I do have 3d printer, but it's been a while since I used it. I will PM you if I need one from you, and THANKS!

For the USB extension cable, do you think 16.4' would be enough? I found this one. Not that it is critical since the daisy chaining works, but why not 1 cable if it is long enough?

Yes, that will work. I had sent you another one in DMs that is known to work, but I see no reason this one wouldn't.

Hey OP gang, do I need the ODB-C cable with the Comma 3x and Q4 harness for installation in my Mach-E? I already ordered those, but not sure if I need the ODB-C cable?

Not if you ordered the 15 foot USB 3.2gen2 cable.

Bluepilot 1.1 is finally ready. I'm actually going to be out of pocket until Monday, but I decided to push it out. If you have any problems, revert back to stable until Monday.

The new release is under the branch "staging." We are moving away from the name "experimental" because Comma already uses that for too many things. From now on, "staging" is the cutting-edge branch.

Here are the highlights:

  • New lateral control scheme including using the "curvature_rate" signal to help increase the amount of curve that can be taken without driver intervention
  • New calculation for "steering limited" messages. Should reduce the number of false alerts
  • New Ford-specific menu with tuning parameters for lane change, anti-ping-pong, and corner-cutting
  • Ability to toggle BlueCruise UI (on compatible clusters), including hands-on and eyes-on-road messages in the cluster.
Here is a brief video on the tuning parameters:

If you already have Bluepilot installed, you can just choose the new branch from the drop-down menu; if you don't, then the installer URL is:

bit.ly/bp-staging
Quick question: If the car seems to be not turning enough in curves (sometimes drifting out of lane to outside of curve), would I lower the High Curvature Factor?

Thanks!

No, you would raise it closer to 1.0

Thanks! I watched your video several times but was a little confused on that one. So just to be sure I understand this: High Curvature PC Factor is the ping pong adjustment within the curve (Decreasing that value will increase the rate of ping pong but reduce drifting) and High Curvature Factor is the tightness of the steering within the curve.

Do I have that right now?

As always, I appreciate all the work you have put into this and your willingness to put up with my silly questions! ?

I'm in! 3x installed yesterday. I installed the staging release and I'm loving it! One question, is it normal for the Ford "Lane keeping assist" message to frequently pop up?

it’s a quirk we are working on.

Where is the best place to monitor and discuss BluePilot? Redit? Discord? F150Gen14 forum, f150 Lightning forum?
