iOS 17 issues with CarPlay?

I installed it yesterday and tried out CarPlay nav. It worked fine, except that I did notice some static in the voice at times. I had never had that happen before. The driver display directions worked fine for me, some others had reported issues with that on another thread, based on the beta.

iOS 17 with my iPhone 12 pro max seems to work fine with CarPlay the last 2-days for me. I use Waze, music apps, and text message replies.

Is everyone here using wireless? For people using wired, have you noticed major clipping in the audio?

I upgraded the day it was released and haven't had any issues. I use PAAK, CarPlay wireless for music, navigation, text and Teams.

I used it yesterday, used navigation with Apple Maps, and had no issues so far.

I never installed any iOS 17 betas on my phone (upgrade from 16) but don't know if that makes a difference in the experience you have. Some beta testers have mentioned issues with Ford navigation versus navigation in CarPlay.

The only Carplay issue I've noticed after the update, one that I can't be sure has anything to do with our car's setup, is that the Audible app stops play every 10-30 minutes for no reason. It is easy to restart. My guess is that the Audible folks will need to fix it.

PaaK and everything else work fine for me.

One odd issue: after installing iOS 17, I've noticed that when using Apple Maps for directions, the display behind the steering wheel has twice been confused about what road I needed to turn onto next. It correctly displayed the distance to the next turn, but everything below that was wrong. It eventually corrected itself, so I paid it little attention.

But I love how reading a text message no longer monopolizes the screen.

Upgraded on Monday. No issues with clipping, or navigation directions on the IPC. Wireless.

iPhone 14 Pro Max. Installed iOS 17 on Monday. No issues so far. Note that I use the Ford Navigation System.
