I let Connected Services lapse on purpose... I think it's unreasonable to have to pay to renew a feature that was an integral part of the vehicle when I bought it. I missed being able to 'speak' my destination while moving, but I am now used to stopping to punch in the address.

However, it has become obvious that the Map data is getting out of date. There has been some road construction in my area recently, and the embedded Nav Map doesn't see it and the routing to a nearby destination is totally wrong now.

So..... can I get the embedded Nav Map to update without re-subscribing and paying for Connected Services? I don't care about finding the nearest BlueOval chargers, I just want Navigation and routing to be up to date.

Should I just switch to using the AndroidAuto map ? Will that map be 'updated'?

Or, should I just go back to using my phone for Navigation ?

You would need to add back connective services for the Ford Integration, it's just like other manufactures' do now a days. You will also need to do this if you ever want to use Blue Cruise.

Foe now, you can use AA and those maps get updated periodically.

I guess I will transition to using AA navigation

I have zero interest in ever using BlueCruise, and don't want to pay for Map updates.

Paying for in car map updates has been standard since in car navigation began.

Can always use Google/Apple/Etc on your phone though. You just pay for them by giving them your data.
@Ford Motor Company sells our data AND charges us for map updates. That's what I object to.

If Ford’s privacy policy is to be believed, they only share our data internally and with contractors who have need. ?‍♂?

are you kidding ?
have you read the TOU for FordPass ?

They may or may not be selling individually tagged data, but the SURE are selling aggregate data. The point is that they have individual data collected by VIN, and as long as that data is available with an ID, it could be sold (or hacked into).

Do you think there are any electronic audits of that data by a third party to make sure it is secure? released to third party ONLY in aggregated formats with individual IDs removed ?

They have the data... where you drive, how fast you go, and even what the posted speed limit is if its in an area mapped. I might be reading into this, but I think the day is coming where Insurance companies, and law enforcement, will have access to all that.

People have been willingly giving insurance companies that data for years for lower rates....
