Is My Battery Degrading?

Have you taken any medium length trips? What the battery like after at least 50 miles?

All the time, but I don't usually watch the % that intentely, but I'll keep an eye on it this weekend and report back if I find anything else unusual. This is the first day I've noticed the huge drop right out of the gate.

You have evidence for that? Most studies I've read indicate that battery degradation takes many years to appear. Overcharging can exacerbate it.

BTW you won't see any degradation in the SoC percentage curve. Even after few years when you drop 5%+- it will still say 100% charge. It will only show in the actual range which will drop a bit.

This is a big reason I charge to 100%. I track battery fade that way.

I think only the leaf did the drop a bar business which got them into a world of trouble...

that is the temp of your battery. when you are fully charged, the battery is warm but if you wait for a while to drive, the temp will drop so the GoM will change as well as SOC. do not worry about 1or 2% drop . you battery is fine

The simple answer is yes from the moment you start using the battery it starts degrading. But if you're at 1200 miles probably not a noticeable amount yet.
