My complaint is the length of time I'm without my vehicle. Ford's issue (I'm guessing) is they don't have the trained staff and parts ready for this.
I get your complaint but I was asking about your car. @DevSecOps thankfully wrangled that out. Please take his advice and talk to the BEV team. Tell your dealer that the parts are available 10000000%. I just had this done in less than a week and got my car back yesterday. It is good to vent, but take the advice given.

Gotcha! I'm a novice. I'm learning. I've gotten some guidance I will be following through with tomorrow. Thanks!

Thanks, scoopman.

The car is in California at a dealership in Patterson. A friend drove 100 miles each way to pick us up and bring us home. The car is now 100 miles from our home, another round trip is in our future.

I will contact a volunteer. Can you link me to the specific thread?

I really like the car. I would like to see it get repaired correctly. This is disappointing, to say the least.
Hold on now....no loaner Car? You should have demanded one or at least got a rental. 100 miles home is bull crap!

Oh Ford sure knows how to make customers feel warm and fuzzy about their defective purchases..

My understanding is that there are no loaner cars available from Ford or from the dealer. We can get a reimbursement for the rental of a non-electric vehicle. I believe this is consistent with what others have experienced. This has also been confirmed by the Service Advisor who would arrange for the rental.

In my case, I was 106 miles from home and it was after business hours for the local dealer where the car died. Ford Roadside offered to have my car towed to a dealer near my home but I would have had to pay over $1,100.00 for the tow. I did not end up using Ford Roadside for towing because of the required up-front payment for Roadside Service. I used my own insurance to have the car towed to the nearest dealer.

When my GT had to be towed to a dealership 2 days after purchase (from a dealership a hundred miles away), I was told by the place I called that they couldn't look at my car for at least a week and couldn't authorize a rental until they looked at it. They said if I chose to rent a car on my own, Ford would (likely) reimbursement it/once they determined that my car wasn't drivable. I called Ford Customer Service and they confirmed that is Ford's policy. When I told them that my two-day new car couldn't be looked at for at least a week, they offered to find me another dealership, which they did and got me an appointment for the next business day. I then called that dealership and the service manager looked at the car's DTCs while it was in transit on the back of the flat-bed tow and confirmed what I'd reported. On the basis of that he got me a rental car at same day, paid for by the dealership. Note that I can purchased Ford's Premium Care with the 1st day rental option. If I hadn't, I think I might have been liable for that first day of rental cost.

The tow was free as well, even though that dealership was further than the nearest dealer, though it was within the 35 mile radius Ford specifies. Note however that I had to deal with Ford Roadside Assistance separately from Ford CS. So once Ford CS got me the appointment at the second dealership, I had to call Ford RA back and get them to change the destination of the tow... It's stupid that Ford CS can't do that.

Thank you John.

Great pics of SF on your site, btw. Very nice. I enjoyed the galleries.

I wish I had known more about Ford's services before I bought the car. I would have planned better with more emergency contingencies, including having AAA and not relying whatsoever on Ford Roadside.

I have been pleased with Ford's response after the car arrived at the dealer. Though, I would have planned to have the car closer to my home and to have an EV rental process prepared before this emergency. I can meet my transportation needs without a rental, my issue is that I am now paying for fuel after buying an EV and installing a charging outlet in my garage. But hey, if Ford wants me to drive a Navigator for a few weeks, I am listening!!!!!

I expect this to be resolved quickly, fairly and efficiently. I am not looking for drama.

I'm glad Ford is treating you well now. But I totally get it about paying for gas right now! I felt the same way... Luckily in my case it was just over the weekend (my car died on a Friday and was updated the following Monday - all s/w, not related to the HVBJB).

Thank you for the compliment on my photography. :) I saw on your website that you used to live in SF. It's a beautiful city, and luckily my wife and I love the weather!

Update:

The dealer confirmed that the parts have arrived for the repair. This will be the dealer's first repair of this kind. They will begin the process in the middle of next week. Fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear about your car. My ‘21 Premium AWD ER just went through this in April. It took a frustrating amount of time to get sorted out due to my tow truck driver damaging my car—so there was body work to attend to, too—but once the right people got involved (“power users” on this forum, folks with connections to Ford, and the Ford social media team), things progressed quickly and my car was fixed. Just make sure to follow up with Ford when they reach out on this forum and ensure that you have a case number. Once they were aware of my issue, they were great! Best wishes to you for a speedy repair.

.... and you've confirmed the part they received is an extra robust, spicy, beefier box? You might want to ask them for the full part number, I've read about others still getting another of the defective part installed ....

To the detail, this is exactly what happened to me. It was the final leg of a long journey, after a stop at an Electrify America. Took THREE visits to Ford to get it fixed right, because it then happened again.

You will have to guide Ford to do the recall download AND push them to replace the HVBJB module per details in this article which has continually been updated: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...ers-biggest-fear-facts-and-info-thread.18143/

Finally, share your experience on the NHTSA website...Ford has got to feel the heat on this to finally correct this dangerous problem properly.

After about a thousand mile road trip we planned our last charge for the last leg home. We pulled into an Electrify America charging station without any issues. We hooked up to the charger, still no issues. The charge authorized and then reported a connection error. That was it. When I returned to the car and turned it on, the Stop Safely message appeared and the car would not start.

Thanks, that is encouraging.

The contacts from this forum are stepping up. Now we wait on the dealer.

The case number has been provided and the case managers have called every other business day since then.
