Hi All,
Coming home from a trip, My wife stopped to charge and when she was done, forced the charging door to close without lifting the little flap on the inside. I haven’t seen it yet, but she tells me the charging door is jammed and she can’t get it open.

I’m hoping we’re not the first dopes to have done this, and someone might have a clever fix besides taking it to the dealer.
Help! And thanks,
Mark

If it was slammed closed on top of the CCS flap, possibly the pin mechanism that holds the door closed is now broken.
it has to be carefully closed and is not the most robust design possible.

I wouldn't call you a dope. Afterall, it wasn't you who did it. :D

Seriously, though, it might help to post a few pictures so people can see what the situation is. "It's jammed" isn't really descriptive.

The DC charge flap might be pushing against the door not allowing it to be pushed inwards to open it. It might just need a lot of force to overcome if that's the problem.

Hi All,
Took Tampamikes’s suggestion and used a bigger hammer. . . . Actually, pushed it in really hard and it popped open. It actually closes easier now than before this happened; go figure! Anyway, thanks for the comments.

How does the CCS flap look? It must be broken off? Maybe that’s fine, not sure it is necessary at all.

Hi Bshaw,
It seems okay. Hopefully dodged the proverbial bullet!

Sounds like we have a new treatment for a sticky charging door! :ROFLMAO:

Old Navy maintenance technique. Glad to be of service!
