Key FOB replacement

IMHO after getting a second from the dealer, buy one online, program it yourself, and protect yourself from having to get robbed just to get a FOB replaced.

That’s part of the reason I got the F150 Lightning key. The other part was the frunk button. ??

I have ordered a key fob replacement and additional $200 is what my dealership wants to “programme” the new FOB

That is about what I paid for a second FOB when my 2021 came with only one.

Fortunately, Ford recognized that the phone as a key was unreliable and started sending two FOBs with the car.
They were gracious enough to send me a check for the amount I paid for my second FOB.

This $99 fob worked great for me if anyone is looking. Just be sure to press the "on" only ONCE after the two admin keys. I was impatient and cancelled programming the first two attempts.

I have never lost a key, but the need to have two physical keys to program a new key was part of my rationale for getting an F150 Lightning key for my MME (although the real reason was because I wanted a key with a frunk button). ??

I got a job 1 21 originallly and we only got one key fob. Fortunately ford heard the owners and gave us a second key fob for 21s built up until june 21.

My wife lost her fob once. She was trying to figure out where she lost it. She said that she was still able to drive the car. I told her to shut off bluetooth on her phone and she was still able to start it. I told her she didn't lose it and that it was in the car. She found it under the seat.
That's the closest to a lost fob in 45 years.

You should probably get a third key online so that you can program the car if you lose one. ??

No FORscan involved. It's a simple matter of using your two existing keys to add the F150 Lightning key in as a third key. The frunk button just works unless you have a 2021 Job 1 car that has not had the BCM and RFA updated. ??
