Is koni FSD available for the mustang mach-e? I wouldn't mind trying something like that
So I contacted Koni about this, and here is their response:

"Thank you for your interest in KONI shocks. The Mustang Mach-E is an application that is currently on our potential development/wish list for the future and has been brought up in a few different discussions with our Engineering team. However, there is no current R&D taking place at this time. With the ever growing EV market KONI continues to monitor trends and the performance aftermarket demand for many of the nearer EV’s. "

Bummer. So for the near future, KW is it.

I had checked with Steeda as well, a while ago and this is the response I got from Brian Dopp.

“Hi Jim, due to how long it took Ford to get the Mach E's out to market, we are just getting started on developing parts. The chassis is closer to the Escape and Bronco Sport platform but seems to be unique in a lot of ways. This is what we currently offer for the Mach E:”

Thank you,
Brian.

Makes sense. The Mach-E was originally designed to be a compliance car with close ties to the Ford Escape platform. Ford pivoted late in the game to transform the car into a Mustang SUV

It doesn't require you to take the suspension apart, and adjusting the spring perch ring is itself pretty simple even with the tools provided. The harder task is making sure the adjustments done are made with sufficient accuracy on all corners.

@GrumblesTheDog

Other than the obvious suspension related warranty items, nothing else is affected. Mind you, this is for me under Finnish / EU consumer protection, so things might be different for you.

As for the installation, I wouldn't pick a new / newish Mach E as my first "exercise". While quite straight-forward, there's still various things you should be aware of in regards to the adjacent systems like brakes and structural elements.
So, what success have you had making adjustments to KWs? Getting even better as you go? Curious how it’s going?

Has anybody other than taikajim gotten themselves the KW coilover? I just checked to see if KW’s sister company, ST Suspensions had a solution for the Mach-E, but they don’t. Too bad, as their level 3 coil solution is around a grand less than the KW, but is also made in Germany. Would probably be good enough. Also curious, how easily accessible the knobs are for making the adjustments to the rebound and compression. Hard to tell from the KW site. Any first experience would be great.

Who has a GTPE here that can compare to the GT bounciness?
I have a GTPE and only test drove that trim, so I cannot compare to regular GT or other trims...my 2c is ...

However, there is still some bounce over specific types of road imperfections, for example closely spaced manhole covers that are recessed below level pavement grade. I had a Jeep Cherokee, just before the MME, take those types of road imperfections without bouncing up and down like a jackhammer.

It's comments like this that make me glad I did not pay the extra $6k+ for the Performance Edition. "Jackhammer" is harsher than comments I've seen before, but a number of PE owners have indicated the ride can be somewhat bumpy even in the PE. No doubt the MagneRide is good technology, but I don't believe it would make that much of a difference for me. If MagneRide were available as a standalone option on the GT Regular, I would have definitely bought it, but bundled into a PE option with a bunch of other stuff I didn't want - not worth it.

I would definitely be interested in some new shocks to soften up the ride, but until/unless something effective becomes available, I'm good with the car as is.

I think you’re reading what you want to. Confirmation bias for sure.

You want to believe that mag ride isn’t worth it and doesn’t make much of a difference.

So on the super rare occasion someone makes a disparaging comment on mag ride, you latch right on to it.

You’re ignoring the 98% 5 star reviews and only looking at the 2% 3 star reviews.

You may think what you like, but what bias might you have after having spent close to $70k on the Performance Edition?

"Super rare"? "98% 5 star"? Provide documentation for your numbers, and I will agree with your assessment. Until then, I will assume that you are the one suffering from confirmation bias.

Nah, I drove another mag ride car for 6 years before this. Very familiar with what the suspension can and can’t do.

How many mag ride cars have you driven?

No need to look far. On the Mach E, Mustang GT, Chevy SS (my last car) multiple BMW and Cadillacs and pretty much every vehicle on the road with mag ride…….. people love it.

You have to look pretty hard to find any reviews that don’t.

Documentation for my numbers? Lol ? I thought it was pretty obvious that was an analogy. This ain’t Amazon or Yelp. We don’t rank our suspensions with star ratings.

Want a suspension that can handle well, ride well, and switch profiles with the push of a button? mag ride.

It ain’t perfect (and the SS mag ride was better and more adjustable than the GTPE), but it’s definitely the best option we have.

I can't remember if anyone else has them on order, or if many are waiting for my feedback LOL.

Originally I had planned to install coils and wheels at the same time, however since I assume some won't be replacing the OEM wheels and tires, I'll install the coils while keeping the OEM Premium trim setup in order to give more aligned feedback.

I'm also trying to track down part numbers for the few items that need to be transferred from the OE suspension to the KW setup. I'd rather buy the spares to install, versus disassembling old. Makes it easier to return to stock down the road.

EDIT:
Adding additional comments for ordering OEM parts for KW installation. The instructions call for an irreversible modification to the upper rear shock mount. Just another reason to order a replacement and keep the existing OE hardware intact.

I have a GTPE and have no clue what this guy is talking about. I think the magneride suspension is incredible and love the ability to change how stiff it is with driving modes to match the conditions. Never had anything like a “jackhammer.”
