I absolutely love my 23 GT except the ultra suede interior. Black and gold piping yes

I’m okay with vegan leather or traditional. Anyone ever used Katzkin or similar?

I have used Katzkin once before and was extremely happy with their covers. For my 2014 Escape, I ordered the entire interior set which included front and rear seats, door panel inserts and console armrest cover. You can choose many options. I went with their Tuscan leather which is their softest and had the center seating surfaces done in perforated leather with contrast black stitching. The color of the seats matched the interior of the Escape perfectly. Also went with full leather so sides and back of the seats are all leather. No vinyl anywhere. I had an upholstery shop install everything and this was done a few months after purchasing the car. 8 years and 120K miles later when I sold the car, that interior still looked almost and no issues with the leather.

the faux suede/alcantera like material on the GT seats does not breathe, it's awful in the summer. I'd love an alternative

Vinyl; the real word for vegan leather. ? ??
Since the OP got all the real answers.

Anyone tried the meat based carrot yet?

I really hate vinyl seats. They’re always hotter and don’t hold up well.

Only about 1% of the country is actually vegan. Not sure where car manufacturers got the idea that all hybrid and electric car owners are. Just give us BOTH options!

Vegans are used to going to restaurants and ordering something different. It’s fine to offer leather too.

The biggest irony is that NO car is fully vegan anyways. But the vegans in the group would still feel better ordering one using “less” animal parts.

And the other 99% would be happy with better seat materials

Mercedes has been using good quality vegan leather claim holds up better easier to maintain etc. I was more concerned about quality etc

I've thought about having the interior redone in the Mach-E with custom Katzkin covers because I dislike the vinyl that Ford uses and as Chris mentioned above, the Miko cloth (fake suede) does not breath at all. I've had my car exactly three years now and going to keep it only another 2-3 years before getting something else and don't think it would be worth the expense to pop for a new interior with that little time left.

I did have two of the surfaces I touch the most redone as soon as I bought the car. Had the steering wheel covered in very soft leather and real Alcantara (two-tone). Also the console armrest has the same (Alcantara center section and soft leather surrounding it). While I have been somewhat happy with the steering wheel, I have decided to go full Alcantara on a new steering wheel. Both my Focus RS and GT500 have a full Alcantara steering wheel and I really like that feel. Not as hot in the summer or cold in the winter (yes my steering wheel heater works just fine) and has better grip. I ordered a new one from Miguel at Design BSKT and can't wait for it to arrive.

Same. I dislike the microfiber. Another upgrade that would have been nice is Ford to add Ricaro type seats on the GT and GTP. Just my thoughts

Completely agree with you. Again, the Focus RS and GT500 came from the factory with genuine Recaro seats. The GTPE (and now the '24 GT and Rally) come with "Ford Performance" seats which are actually quite decent and somewhat mimic the Recaro's, but they certainly aren't Recaro's. The two reasons I purchased a GTPE and would not look at any other trim was the seats and MagneRide suspension (also a feature that the Focus RS and GT500 came with).

I went from premium standard range to GT. Personally I only wanted the extended range but my dealer (February price drop) showed me the GT and that’s all it took. Same 0% and $10 more a month. I’m couldn’t go wrong.
